I bought this inverter a few months ago, I live in an older neighborhood with a lot of of big trees. The trees are getting older and branches fall on the power lines and I loose electricity. This inverter has been used three times since I bought it and love that it works great with my electronics.
Great quality, starts right up, good stable power. I had an interconnect added to my house and can run all my most needed equipment. The only improvement I would recommend is making the access panel larger where the oil fill inlet is located. I recommend to my neighbor and he bought the same. Both of us are happy.
I bought this unit after yet another prolonged power outage. The trifuel capability is awesome, and I have it plumbed to a natural gas line right by our gas meter. We had to upgrade the gas meter to meet the requirements of the generator plus our furnace. Break in was easy and the Duromax runs quietly even when connected to our new interlock outlet and powering most of the house. There are a few design issues that could be improved: 1. Given that a large number of users will be connecting this generator to a transfer switch or an interlock and needing to unbond the neutral (to use the panel ground instead) I would hope it would be possible to add a switch to the panel that allows the user to go back and forth easily from bonded to unbonded. Currently the front cover has to be removed and it is awkward and time consuming to switch back and forth. 2. The oil drain plug is awkward being so low to the ground. Rather than tilt the unit as the instructions indicate I use an oil suction pump to remove the old oil. 3. The generator comes with a 1/2” natural gas hose but 3 different plumbers told me this was not sufficient to meet the BTU demands of the generator when running on natural gas. I ordered a 3/4” hose but wish it had just come with one. I appreciate the battery tender and overall expect many years of service.
My XP11000iHT is such an incredible machine, I used my 2nd home as an excuse to buy a XP7000iHT. The XP7000iHT is such a wonderful machine, I wish my primary home didn't require so much power that I could have purchased two XP7000iHT's instead of an 11000 & a 7000. Watching either machine run is a machine Magnum Opus. And so quiet compared to open frame generators.
I did lots of research on generators, the quietest, most powerful, whole house or non whole house. Portable or pad mounted plus I’m an electrician so there’s that. Hands down Duramax is the best. It’s never let me down, EVER!!
Starts first time, every time. I have used this thing to power a cabin over 2 years now. Winters and summers and it is a beast! Low noise, high power, extremely durable. I have kept this outside just under a small cover and it has not failed me.
