Excellent for a home backup

I purchased this unit as a home backup for our 2300sqft house. It is super easy to operate and switch to backup power. I’m currently in a power outage and you wouldn’t know it! Comfortably runs our base systems and one large load like an oven or dryer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Gen!

I purchased this after hurricane Helene. The reason is I have been using a top name open frame gen, and I think it fried a soft start I installed on my AC compressor back in Feb 2024. Soft start worked fine for 9 months, then 2-1/2 days into Helene's outage it went dead. This is the reason I purchased the XP9500iH, I want4eds to make sure I had clean power. 1st pic is a sine wave of the utility. 2nd/3rd pics are of the open frame gen, unloaded and with a 5.2kW load. 3rd/4th pics are of the XP9500iH unloaded and with a 5.2kW load. You decide.

Poor quality of life

Lasted less than three years, my cheap Wen 1800 is still going strong after 10 years. Would not recommend Duramax to my neighbors. We live in the forest of CA and have blackout/power outages regularly. I thought this unit would last and yes I did routine maintenance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So Far So Good!

Purchased on Sept 5th. Received on Sept 11th. Box was a little rough, but unit was undamaged. Blame the Shipping company for that. Unit started right up on propane. Went through with break in, unloaded and loaded...unit did great. Unit is very quiet and that is what I wanted..oil change process is super easy, a huge plus. Unit feels well built, fit and finish are very good. I have high hopes this unit will last me for a very , very long time. Only time will tell...first 4 hours went without a hitch.

Works great but needs a few tweeks

The startup instructions are confusing. They say "remove the maintenance end cover" to connect the battery, which I did (I had to REMOVE the battery to find the wires), then they say to "remove the right hand maintenance cover" to add the oil. Ok. Which is the "right" one? I opened three sides and FINALLY found that it is in the previously called "maintenance end cover" and "right hand maintenance cover" are the same exact cover, and is VERY hard to get to the oil input. This is a really bad design. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to see the oil level visually (per the manual) without laying on the ground to look back up in the area. I can't imagine anyone bit beefy hands being able to remove the dip stick plug The other pain in the hind end is that you have to removed bolts to get to this area to add/change oil. Why not some type of quick release latches? That all said, it is considerably quieter than my neighbors loud generators.

This is an excellent generator. The best feature is the oil drain process. The "kickstand" with the drain hose is a real plus as it makes for an easy oil change.
