The compact height works better with my kitchen layout, allowing me to leave the blender and container on the counter with the lid on. The design works as well as the standard container as far as blending goes. Mine gets a moderate amount of use and is most used for frozen fruit smoothies.

I have been using the classic larger size container with my vitamix blender for years and wanted to try out this smaller version for better ease of use for smaller recipes such as sauces and smoothies. I LOVE this size and use it daily. The larger size is great for blending soups, but I prefer this 48 oz size for most uses. Thank you!

Great for medium-sized batches

I bought this 48oz container because the 64oz one that came with my 7500 is too large for smoothies and small servings of frozen desserts. The smaller container great for smoothies, nut butters, sauces, and hummus.
I give 4 stars instead of 5 because it's hard to clean. For anything thicker than a smoothie, food gets stuck to the metal ring under the blades. Blending with dish soap for 30 seconds, as recommended, doesn't get all the grime. I've tried soaking it in vinegar, to some avail, but for the most part I've resigned myself to having a not entirely clean container.
