I love that it fits under my cabinets and keeps me from making too much. It does not blend as well as the tall container. It takes longer and need more poking with the thing that goes through the lid.

The machine is much louder than our first generation blender!!! The container is way wider causing more of a mess inside it when blending smaller amounts of material. Using the accessory smoothie cups are too narrow and don't allow you to put very much material in the cup. Additionally, you have to mount the cup while holding the mounting cradle upside down, (bad idea!) and will probably be a waste of money because I do not see myself using it very much. Frankly I wish I would have never bought a new Vitamix and kept my old one that I had four over 10 years!!! :(

Just received this container and love it’s size. It fits on top of the base and fits under the cabinets. The bottom seems much wider than my original one and since it’s shorter it will be easier to get all the stuff out of the bottom! Great for thick sauces!

I love this handy size for all my basic blending needs. My old container had been used until the bearings wore out, so I purchased this replacement. A great improvement has been the center piece of the lid, which now clicks in snugly into the lid instead of falling out whenever the lid was tipped over. This container is easy to clean and use and its shorter size makes it easy to store as well!

I have 4 Vitamix containers. I have been buying them from Texas to California to Oregon and now in Tennessee. Some I have had for over 20 years, and I have enjoyed the luxury of using them all.The value, quality, ease of use all get 5 star ratings. I would recommend any of these products to others who are interested in adding a new flair to your cooking..."kicking it up another notch", as Emeril would say!
I like the 48 ounce right now because I am cooking for one person. This is a great in-between size to take care of most of the recipes I am making now. It still works as well as the larger Vitamixes.
Something else I like about the 48 ounce container is that it will fit under my cabinets. It's nice to come into the kitchen in the mornings to fix my breakfast shake, and the Vitamix is already there on my counter waiting for me !! But I appreciate all of my Vitamixes. They are wonderful.The next one that I would like to have is the AER machine.
