I was a loyal Braun customer for many years, But now with
stubborn gray hair on my neck, it just wasn’t performing. I’ve now been using the Norelco 9000 prestige for a few weeks, and it’s night and day In comparison with my old Braun series 9. Shaves quicker and closer!

Smooth, close shave, quiet, clever cleaning pod

My best Norelco yet, have had them for decades, very long lasting. Most recently tried a foil shaver for improved closeness, but soon dulled. And it always had trouble with my neck and jaw area. This S9000 Prestige handles them much better. And in fact it's giving a closer overall shave than even the foil, as well as my previous Norleco shavers.
The compact Quick Clean Pod is a pleasant surprise, as I was wary of the elaborate, larger cleaning stations I'd seen for other shavers. This one is compact, light and plugless, powered by the shaver itself, so it's easy to place on a bathroom countertop, or store away on a shelf. Also very quick & easy to change its inexpensive cartridge.
I was undecided about what charging option to choose, Qi wireless or plug-in, but went with the plug-in model for easier packing on longer trips. And frankly our bathroom is getting overloaded with charging stations and other devices. Again, why I also think Norelco's Quick Clean Pod is ideal for us. But if you have the space to dedicate to a Qi base it can be a very convenient feature.
So far I'm happy with this purchase, but of course time will tell if it's as durable as my previous Norelco rotary shavers were.

Recently I was getting frustrated that it was not shaving my neck hairs very well, so instead of buying a new cartridge, I decided to try Norelco. The 9000 prestige is quieter and gives me the closest shave in the quickest time. It handles three and four day stubble without an issue, and my neck has never been softer and cleaner!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Phillips Prestige SP9840/90 wet/dry shaver is the best shaver I have ever owned! Finally, a shaver that approaches safety-razor shaving 🪒. The cleaning system completely cleans the three cut-hair receptacles. The smoothest shave is the only glitch I have encountered occurs as I push the razor heads from below my chin to above it: occasionally the bottom of the three blade holders. will open, pinching my chin. I’m not sure a redesign of the way the blade-holders open and close would solve the issue. Still, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
