[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used a traditional razor with shaving cream all my life. I was curious about electric razors but heard they didn’t shave as closely as a blade. During COVID (like many stay/work at homes) I stopped shaving daily. For the occasional zoom meeting I would have to shave, and I began wishing I had an electric, for a quick touch up. I finally got one, the cheapest Norelco. Even though I had limited expectations, it didn’t meet even those. I spent more time than with a razor trying to get a minimally close shave. Just wouldn’t do it. Sigh. I’d read reviews for the Prestige and was intrigued by users saying the shave was the best possible from an electric, rivaling a blade. The price was an obstacle. Finally when a Norelco trimmer I’d been happily using for years died, I talked myself into the Prestige-which has a similar trimmer. And the Prestige was on sale. Glad I finally moved on it. It truly does give a close shave that rivals a blade and it does so quickly. I’m stuck with the first Norelco, which I kept past the return window. I’ll probably donate it. Very pleased with the Prestige. It’s a high class experience in every way. Pricey but worth it for me.

Finally it's like having my old Philishave back

Through the 1980's to early 2000's I had a Philishave HQ 5400 I think and I loved it.
By 2010 I decided to replace it and was disappointed by what Phillips had to offer even in the upper end of the line trying 3 different units along the way, There didn't seem to be that pinnicle model available like back in the day.
Until now, my new S9000 Prestige is what I've been looking for from Phillips for over a decade - its quiet, precise, and cuts through anything smoothly and without irritation, the quality of the case and the weight in hand when using is excellent and the charging pad is handy.
