I gave this shaver 5 stars because it went through a house fire got burned, smashed on a dryer 5 times and hit with a crowbar 9 times before it finally stopped working.

Great Shave !!!

Shaves great !! The SH98 shaving heads are the best of Norelco. BUT.......I've been using a variety of Norelco rotary shavers continuously since 1969 (typically the best model of the time) and I have a few issues with the SP9820 which is the top of the line Norelco in 2020 (S9000 Prestige series). #1) It does not have a built in pop up trimmer. #2) It does not come with a plastic cap to protect the rotary head when not in use. #3) The rotary head does not remove for cleaning as easily as past flip top models. #4) It does not come with a cleaning brush. #5) I do not like the longer type body style vs the shorter stubby body style --- I find my wrist starts to hurt even for a short duration shave. All in all....it is a great shaver.
I always shave dry after a shower and I particularly like how it shaves my neck area. It is very smooth, does not produce ANY irritation and quickly cuts all the hairs on a two-day old beard, even the sideways-growing ones. It effortlessly glides over my skin to make the most comfortable shave I've ever had.

Hands down this is the best shaver I have ever purchased. Effortlessly glides across your face. Often with two weeks of growth it can remove hairpin one pass. Zero irritation after using. Sleek and aerodynamic design. A beautiful product to behold. No uneven patches of hair left on your face. A very close and even shave. You owe it to yourself to purchase this shaver
I have noted elsewhere that I first purchased the Prestige Shaver in 2019 and liked it very much except for the need to manually clean it after every use. I sold it a year later and purchased a foil shaver. Boy what a BAD decision that was. In January of 2021 I purchased another Prestige Shaver. What a smooth comfortable shave I get with this shaver.
I have been using Norelco rotary shavers for over 40 years - always buying their "top of the line" models. My most recent one finally was ready to be replaced after about 8 years. I assumed the S9000 Prestige would be very similar in quality with my previous purchases. I was extremely surprised when I started to use this for the 1st time. It was noticeably better than my previous shavers in almost every way. It has been giving me a MUCH closer shave and has been very comfortable on my skin, In the past I would use a traditional razor about once a week to give me a closer shave. I have been using the S9000 Prestige for about 3 weeks and have not found the need to use a razor even once! I initially didn't think I'd like the idea of a detachable trimmer, but I have found that this isn't really inconvenient and actually works more effectively than the trimmers that were attached on previous models. I do miss the Smart Clean system that is unavailable for this model, although it is very simple to clean under a faucet. More than that, I miss the simple charging stand since I now have to place the shaver on its side or put it back in its case. The shaver itself is very well designed and fits my hand like a glove. I highly recommend the S9000 Prestige to anyone that prefers an electric shaver to a traditional razor.

the very best

This is by far the very best shave that I have ever had. I have tried many shavers over the years and have found that the 3 blade/cup style works best for me. I have been using the mid grade Philips shavers for most of those years and have always gotten, what I thought was, a great shave. But I'm here to tell you that stepping up to the s9000 is the best shaving decision that I have made. The shave is, hands down, the closest and smoothest shave with No skin irritation that I have ever had.
