Takes too long to shav.e

I bought this to replace my Arcitec shaver. The Arcitec was the first Norelco shaver that I felt gave me a close and fast a shave as the Panasonic shavers I owned. This top of the line shaver with all it's advance technology takes a long time for me to get a clean shave and ends up irritating my skin. The speed control doesn't seem to make a difference. Seems like it's just a gimmic
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When doing dry shaving, the shaver would sometimes get stuck and wouldn’t glide on the skin. This would never happen on the aquatec shaver which cost much less. Did not try the wet shaving. Also, the trimmer is a separate unit which is not as convenient as the built-in trimmer found on the aquatec product.

Hi tiger001,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that the shaver is not up to your expectations. If you are experiencing the shaver getting stuck at times, we can recommend checking the shaving head for any signs of leftover debris and cleaning the head, and making sure that the shaver has been charged appropriately.
If you have any further questions, please also get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website www.philips.com/support. One of our colleagues will be happy to help you further!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have owned many a Norelco... Shavers are quite excellent. However... With this model, there are TWO challenges, especially if you travel: The case, and the charger.
For those road warriors out there, who would rather cut off an arm VS. checking a bag, who value packing their roll on bag as smarty as possible, this saver's case is a disaster. It is huge. Easily 3x the size of a traditional Norelco Shaver. Worse, the wireless charger, which is terrific when you're home, is a nightmare when you're on the road: If you don't take the huge case, you can't charge the phone. For such a great company, this case / charger situation is a huge 'miss'.

Simply Amazing Product

Have been using Braun Series 9. It's a well crafted device but with thanks to it's design trying to keep motor noise down if you have a thicker beard it yanks and pulls the hairs out of your face. No matter how slowly you move it. Just got this S9000 and wow in one pass the difference was felt. So smooth and quiet yet so powerful even a 3 day growth running on the slowest speed did not bog it down and cause pulling. Definitely very pleased. If only one critique of the Philips is what on earth is in this device that makes it cost so much more than the other machines. I also own a model 9400 Philips. I don't get what costs so darn much
Lacks stand. Awkward to keep in bathroom without stand. It takes up too much space. Battery discharges too rapidly.

Have been using norelco electric razors since I was a kid. (70+ years). The new s9000 is very smooth and quiet, but is not as comfortable to hold as my old spectra series. Trimmer is very effective, but should have been integrated into the razor. Don’t like having to switch between the head and trimmer.
Pros: smooth shave, trimmer works well
Cons: don’t like switching heads and trimmer., awkward to hold, floating heads are also awkward to use, battery not as long lasting as my last norelco
The shaver works well. It needs a way to charge it without having to use the wireless pad, which is awkward for travel. It would also be nice to use the cleaner that came with my previous Norelco shaver.
I've used a electric since I was young enough to need to shave, and a rotary for decades. The S9000 offers the best shave of all, in my experience. I did need to give it a couple weeks to sharpen itself and to acquire the right touch, but now it does an excellent job. The shaver is wonderful, but for this price I would expect both a stand, brush, and shaver head cap, and for there to be a far better trimmer mechanism. I reused an old head cap from my arcitec 98xx model, but that seems silly at this price point. Why should I have to order a brush when one is needed to "deep clean" the shaver every month?
