Not sold on this product yet, more cons than pros

This unit does not feel as sturdy as the Series 8000 Model 1250X I've owned for many years. The on/off button is wobbly. After removing the blade head for cleaning it fits back on with barely a click, not a real solid connection. The unit just seems like it's made somewhat cheaply, and at such an expensive price (this review was rejected initially because I mentioned the price, so I am resubmitting it) I would hope for more of a solid feel and construction. I am apprehensive of using it wet. The need to remove the entire shaver head to attach a trimmer will add wear and tear to the head connection on the shaver unit. Not sure why they did that except to save on construction cost. My old unit was great for simply being able to slide up the lever and trim, and the charger folded, stored easily, and fit on the sink edge nicely. The new 'charging pad' is large, and dedicated to just the shaver (it is not a universal charging pad and the cord does not detach from the pad, plus the plug is really large), so I think it's a gimmick and unneccessary. A USB charging system would have been just fine. There is no protective cap for the shaver head so now the large hard storage case case is needed to keep shaver, cord, trimmer, and charging pad clean and protected, and the case is very bulky so does not fit well in a full suitcase. I used to store my shaver in my toiletry bag, not any more. Overall, I'm starting to wish I had not asked for this for Christmas, I just thought after about 7 or so years it was time for a great new shaver. Not sure this one is it. 3 Stars.

Not quite what I had hoped for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the look and feel of later S9000 and I like the fact it is designed to be used in the shower. But i do not get a close enough shave to stay with it for everyday use. Even tried using different shaving creams, and tried different strategies on shaving but in the end I always feel a slight stubble, and when you come back with a razor blade on one side you can definitely feel the difference.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, thanks for writing us this review. It's good to hear you've tried a couple of things already to improve the shave. Other things that may help would be alternating between a wet/dry shave, making circular movement with the shaver and not using too much pressure when you are shaving. While rinsing the shaving unit, water may drip out of the bottom of the shaver. This is a normal occurrence. We suggest to carefully shake off excess water and let the shaving head holder air-dry completely. Once air-dry, you can attach the shaving head holder to the bottom part of the shaving unit. Nice Shaver with useful features

[Employee of philipsglobal] Given this is the top of line shaver from Philips, it's allow the user to customize the setting to get a clean comfortable shave. The charging pad can be use as my smart phone charger on the trip. one less thing to bring on the road. My only concern is the high cost for the replacement shaver head, in the next year and half.

Super Smooth and Powerful

I was ask to participate in a product review for the Philips/Norelco S9000 Prestige shaver/trimmer. In exchange for the product, I agreed to write a review of my experience. Right out of the box, I liked the razor. It has a sleet, ultra modern look with a digital readout for battery level, etc. It has the most quiet motor I have ever heard from a razor. But, don`t take quiet for weakness. It comes with Nonotech precision blades which give a great shave. I used the product on day to day shaves, and once with a 4 day growth. The shaves were the same, with not tugging or pulling. It`s quick and easy, and it fits perfectly in my hand. With beard adapting sensors, and the 3 speed motor, You cannot go wrong. It comes with instructions, charger, and a trimming attachment to shape sideburns, beards, etc. Last but not least is the hard shell, zippered case for travel. I absolutely recommend this product.
Pros: battery life, quietness, ergonomic design
I would recommend this to a friend!
