Wish the instruction sheet was in larger print But once I figured it out it was quite easy.To set up a recording schedule and playback wasn't so hard to do either.Very impressed with it

This is a great Product and very inexpensive. I installed a splitter on the antenna wire and now I can record one show and watch another channel on the TV at the same time. It is fantastic and Free recording with NO monthly fee. Fantastic Product. Easy to operate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

These units keep failing....

I would put a 0 if I could. I bought 2 of these and they both quit working. There are lots of bugs in the software.....
Unfortunately there are few decent alternatives on the market... If they would fix the software/firmware that would be great.
So in the meantime this is still the best option.
I wish someone would connect with me and let me know if these can be repaired?

Love the recorder but wish it worked better!

I love this recorder but wish it worked better! If you schedule a recording to go 1 hour long, it shuts off after 55 minutes, 47 seconds consistently! The last 4 minutes, 13 seconds of the show didn’t get recorded. Consistently does this! To record an hour long show, you must schedule two half hour events with a minute inbetween.
You are watching a football game but have to be gone for two hours. I know! Watch it on the recorder and right before leaving, select RECORD. In two hours you can watch what you missed. WRONG! The recorder shut off at 56 minutes and I missed the end of the game!
I think the product needs a software upgrade but how to do this??? I have just given a recorder to my son-in-law and hope his doesn’t have these issues. I am taking mine back later this week hoping I can get a replacement that works better!

not great needs usb to update software included

Had this thing quite a while. First 2 years i kept losing signal. Losing channels never found out if it was the unit So I don't know what was wrong with it on the inside or if they kept switching channel numbers or whatever with the dTV switch over. After meeting in Tennis the last couple years, it decided to work really good. So maybe it was the number switching of the d TV channel numbers. Although I.
Wish it had a USB software update included in the package that would have been nice. And an app to go on your phone. Maybe that was the problem a whole time. The software needed to be updated. Mine Plugs into the wall. There's no AC Adapter, it's that old. Your website has no sort of filmware. Or software update for these boxes. That would be a nice thing to include.

Record for later Viewing - FANTASTIC!!!

For over the air programs, we are able to record daily two shows that are broadcast at times when we can’t watch them but now CAN watch them when we want to watch them. This is a great buy! There are some features that aren’t indicated in the user manual but was easy to figure out…… a sleep timer for this recorder. I have been looking for something like this for several years and stumbled across this! I bought a second one today for a Xmas present for my son-in-law! Now HE can watch “recorded” football games that his sleep schedule won’t allow him to watch completely!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well enough but a short lifespan

Worked for 1 month then died. From reading other reviews that appears to be a common occurrence. When it did work it worked well enough, but the remote and user interface is poorly made.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this TV Tuner because my tv service does do not cover the new station CHSN which covers the Chicago Bulls, White Sox and Black Hawks but they can be viewed on the free HD-Digital tv channels. So far so good except the newly formed CHSN that they are featured on has 2 channels, the main channel 62.2 and 62.3 the backup channel. The main station uses MPEG5 and the backup channel does not. This box does not support MPEG5. This is ok until the game i want to watch is on the main channel. Looking to see if they will offer a software upgrade to support MPEG5.
