Too much trouble

Bought this last week & if I knew how much trouble it was I'd save my money. I lost stations especially the one I wanted to record & the instructions are worthless.
It records. Setup was OK. The menus are hard to navigate because the manual is so basic. The device does more than the manual describes. That's good but the learning curve is steeper to figure out how to access these features. The remote must be very carefully aimed to work. Overall I like it.
Couldn't be happier when combining the price and the features. My unit didn't recognize my USB2 drives but my USB3 64gb works perfectly and my remote response time is not delayed at all as a previous post reported. Also being able to move the USB 3 and watch with all of my devices and TV's is terrific. I have never given a review on anything before but I just had to with this unit. The only suggestion I have is to improve the manual. However, this web site provided answers to most of my Qs. So Kudos on a great affordable product!
I would not buy this product for a PVR system. No TV program guide. Very limited on how to record. Product is slow and remote has to be almost perfectly aligned to work. it would be nice if you could attacth a drive so you could record more than a few movies. It really needs a TV guide program drive.
I have an antenna i need to rotate to get channels around me. When i scan in one direction then rotate to add channels in other direction, unit erases all channels found in previous scan. Need a design that allows you to add channels to existing finds.
I bought the TVTR149 yesterday and thought it had promise. Unfortunately it often doesn't recognize my brand-new name-brand 128BG USB drive that I purchased to use with this product. I set the timer to record a show this morning (verified the date, time, etc) but when I got home the USB drive was empty. I did a test run last night and it worked OK, although the recording had some odd "skips" in places. The quality of the image was really good so I was willing to overlook the couple of skips in the recording. The unit is slow to respond to the commands from the remote, and the manual doesn't address several of the buttons on the remote. The concept of the TVTR149 is great, but the execution is poor. I thought maybe there might be a software update to fix things, but I don't see any on the website. Unfortunately this will be returned to the store.
