After trying many different types and brands of Coffee Makers, this particular one is at the top of my list. The coffee has a smooth flavor, especially when using a charcoal filter, which I replace once a month. I also use a good-quality paper cone filter above the carafe. The water well opening is large enough and easy to fill, avoiding spills. And, the water temperature doesn't burn the grounds as it brews, but rather gives the coffee a smooth, just-right taste.

This coffee maker is an attractive addition to my kitchen. It makes great coffee and has nice features such as "bold" for flavor enhancement, and a water reservoir indicator, which is very useful. My previous Cuisinart coffee maker did not have that feature. I owned my previous Cuisinart coffee maker for over 10 years. It was a festive red color and provided many great cups of coffee. My current coffee maker is a classy silver color and brews fine coffee. However, the spout of the carafe is poorly designed. It's too wide and you have to really watch your aim when pouring or spills occur. Annoying, but not impossible with which to live.
