We like black, strong coffee. This coffee maker has all the features we need and is very user friendly. The bold feature lets us get the most flavorful cup. The water reservoir is easy to fill and has a window on the side so you can see the water level. The filter basket is large and can hold a large amount of grounds without overflowing. We also like the 4 cup setting when we want to make a small pot later in the day. We use filtered water and high quality beans and have been very happy with flavor of the coffee. We've had two 12 cup Cuisinart coffee makers before this one and we got many years out of each one. They are a good product for the money.

Easy to use - love the lights buttons (an improvement over the switches and knobs). I try and wipe off any water that drips on the hot plate as soon as I hear the “hiss”. Hopefully this will maintain the glass finish on the plate.
