I was very excited about this product until I found out that there is design deficiency where the water comes from the reservoir to the coffee basket. The first unit I purchased worked for a couple of days and then it started to leak really bad that resulted in water on the sink that flowed on to the kitchen floor. I did get a replacement coffee maker and that one too started leaking after a couple of times using it. The problem is where the intake tube goes to the overhead drip assembly. Before the water gets to the overhead drip, it starts leaking at the hinged tube part.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I researched many brands, looking for a machine that would stand up to daily use, and found my first Cuisinart coffee maker! It is perfect, looks just like the picture. We had a Cuisinart coffee maker for years and were so happy with it. When we had to replace it, we knew we had to get another. Sometimes with the passage of years, the quality of the product goes down. Not so with Cuisinart! We actually like the looks and function of the new one even more. I would highly recommend.
