Bought it for the extra 2 cups to 14 but every time we go that full grounds overflow into carafe making the extra two cups unusable. Everything is black: lid/filter receiver/water tank AND the lip of the pot so even in bright light, you can't tell where you're pouring and given the tank aperture is too small, you have to be stupid careful not to pour into filter. THEN the lid doesn't open far enough so when one is trying to pour the last few ounces out of the pot , into the tank, one hits the lid before the pot tis empty. Ergonomics are abysmal!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My previous coffee pot broke and I needed one quickly. I went to the store. I wanted a quality coffee maker for 12 cups without a lot of buttons what did I get a 14 cup coffee pot with three too many buttons but I have to admit when I got home it makes a great hot cup of coffee and I like the extra features and when I have company, I have plenty of coffee for everybody. This is definitely a coffee maker. I would buy again.
This is my 2nd coffee marker. It does a great job and the coffee stays hot as the plate is adjustable. This unit is much louder than my first one. Still love it
I find the Cusinart brewing an excellent cup of coffee each morning. The key was a challenge at first to determine the water/coffee ratio for a 10-12oz cup (referance 5oz in information). Only drawback I don't like is do not fill the reservoir to max, if you interested the smaller amount (1-4) cup setting. The water dispenced is not controlled the 1-4 button selection.
