Toast comes out perfect on setting 3. For English muffins you have to place it in the toaster and certain way and put on that setting. Best toaster I’ve ever had. Sleek design looks nice enough to leave out on the counter.

After limited use our new Cuisinart toaster started to toast only one side of the toast. The center heating element wasn’t working. This is the same problem we had with our last Cuisinart toaster. Note that we replaced our previous Cuisinart toaster with the same model Cuisinart toaster.

Like the Cuisinart but two toasters failed to work

I chose Cuisinart due to its good reputation. However, I have now purchased two different Cuisinart toasters and both failed to work properly after a couple weeks. The first toaster was a less expensive Cuisinart and the toaster quit working because the lever failed to engage. The second toaster was a more expensive one and it too failed to work properly. This toaster has more settings. It had a one slice chose which stopped working properly. Returned without any problems. Went to another brand which is still working. Sorry the Cuisinart failed to work properly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
