Good machine but not quite espresso

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used pretty fancy espresso machines before so I want to make sure I state that before I start my review. With that in mind, this machine is good for someone who has never used any kind of espresso machine before and they don't want something too complicated or expensive. So, here are the pros: 1) a combined machine saves space on your counter top; 2) you have the ability to froth/steam milk so you can make lattes and cappuccinos and it has an adjustable steamer based on what you're making; 3) very simple to use 4) makes great coffee; 5) timer feature for coffee brewing. Overall, I think the thing I like the best about the machine is that I could get rid of my simple standalone coffee maker and have the ability to make espresso, steam milk and brew coffee in one machine. Here are the cons: 1) you have to control the espresso stream. It will not stop automatically for you. I suggest getting espresso cups and using that as your guide. 2) There is no pitcher provided for the milk steaming. There are a lot of inexpensive options online. Get one with a handle so you don't burn your hand. 3) it does not grind your coffee. You will need to either buy ground coffee or grind it yourself. I highly suggest grinding it so you can get freshly roasted beans and control the grind yourself. 4) the time keeps randomly changing from normal AM/PM to 24 hour military time. I cannot figure out why. 5) the espresso feature clogs. I started using this on April 4th and on April 18th the espresso side stopped working. A review of the troubleshooting part of the manual indicates there is likely a clog and there are some steps that involve a screwdriver to correct it. This is something they suggest doing every 3,000 uses but I didn't use it 3,000 times in 2 weeks. Another thing that is both a pro and a con: when you go to remove the used up coffee puck from the basket after making espresso the basket falls out instead of just the used up grounds. If you're dumping directly into the trash you may need to dig the basket out of the trash if it drops in. I call this also a pro because it means the basket is not too difficult to remove when you're cleaning it. A great fix for this is to get a knock box for your used up coffee instead of using the trash can (collected grounds are great for your garden!). Overall, I am enjoying how easy it is to use and the beverages being produced are delicious. It brews great coffee, too. I had to get espresso cups, a pitcher for the milk and a knock box but getting those extra items still wasn't as expensive as a big espresso machine for twice the cost of this where I'd still need a separate coffee maker.

I bought the ALL-in-One Coffee & Espresso Maker, Cappuccino, Latte Machine = Advanced Adjustable Milk Frother - COM532M as a birthday gift. I don't really drink coffee but I found out that drinking a double shot of espresso actually soothes any migraine attacks that I so often have! Whenever I have an episode of a migraine attack I brew a mean double shot of an Americano from my COM532M. Resulting a very calming effect on my throbbing headache. Thanks, DeLonghi.
*Note: My only issue is that the espresso machine does not stop at ONE or at TWO shots brewing until you manually stop it! If not, it continually brews and you'll end up with a regular cup of very light cup of coffee or it'll overflow the heck over your counter top. Hence, the four stars. Nonetheless, I still recommend this All-in-One product.

Perfect espresso

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine has made my mornings so great! First Im saving time and money with no need to go to those expensive places to get my coffee. Second the coffee tastes amazing I couldn't belive I made it! And it saves me counter space. The De'Longhi All-In-One Combination Coffee and Espresso Machine is actually pretty small for all those features and I had an expensive espresso machine which I had to order expensive pods, i had a drip coffee maker and a frothing cup and now I have all in one and have reclaimed my counter space.

Huge functionality, with sharp design!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone with a family who has different wants for their morning caffeine, I was pretty pumped to use De’Longhi All-in-One combination Coffee and Espresso Machine, hoping to streamline my counterspace. And the reviews are in from the assorted connoisseurs in my family (and me!) that the De’Longhi has hit the sweet spot for everyone.
I should start by saying I am not a coffee drinker, but I’ve collated the reviews of my family members that are, but the De’Longhi matters to me as I love simple clean countertops, and beautiful, multifunctional appliances. So for me, the De’Longhi combo machine is absolutely perfect. It looks sharp, the chrome and black fitting in almost any decor scheme. It is smaller than I expected - considering how it handles multiple duties - which was a pleasant surprise. It is sturdy, and well crafted, and I expect it will last. It came in pristine condition, without a ding or flaw.
I own other De’Longhi products (a slow cooker and radiant heater just to name a few), and I’ve been delighted with them all, and they are all functioning flawlessly, even years later. So I have every confidence that this Coffee/Expresso Machine will be the same.
Functionally it works as it should, simplifying mornings at our house. It is super quick to set up, and within 15 minutes of opening the box, we had our first cup. It has a dual heating system, so espresso drinkers don’t have to wait on the coffee drinkers to finish, and vice versa, and because this is so, many small wars have been subverted. I love that it has a reusable filter, which means we are never left in a bind, having to grab an expensive drink when we hit the road.. If you prefer cone filters, you can use those as well.
The frothing wand works okay, but it does take some practice to produce your desired thickness with consistency. For expresso, tamping seems to be the key to producing the perfect shot (which is included, more on this later). Milk steaming is lacking, as the wand has little range of motion and not enough power to spin the milk to get an ideal steam. While not perfect in every area, it more than makes up for it with its versatility and convenience.
For instance, this is a fantastic machine to have when guests stay, as it can pump out so much variety, suiting every taste. Coffee, espresso, lattes and cappuccinos, this thing has you covered, and it does them all well, and even great to some degree.
It is programmable, with an easy to read display and intuitive design, so if you want to think as little as possible in the morning, this is your machine. I like that the water reservoir lifts out for cleaning and filling. In fact, this machine is very easy to clean as a whole, which is a huge plus. Nothing is worse than having a product that performs well, but you don’t want to use because it’s such a hassle to tidy up afterward. The De’Longhi definitely makes clean up a breeze.
The carafe is well built and sturdy, with a wide mouth, and room for 10 cups of coffee (and a bit more). The water heats and brews quickly, so you don’t have to wait long, but not too quickly that it affects taste. On the espresso side, while the taste is fine, it is a bit watery, though again, perhaps better tamping creates a thicker shot. It seems the results vary, so this may be a user issue, rather than mechanical.
You’ll definitely want to give this a clean before using (which De’Longhi says is necessary), and don’t freak out if the first few brews don’t taste quite right. This will go away, so don’t have any initial misgivings. The manual also gives you instructions on how to make the various drinks, cleaning recommendations, programming notes, and general care in an easy to understand format.
De’Longhi has been producing some of my favorite products lately, and this All-In-One Coffee and Espresso Machine fits nicely in that family. I certainly recommend.

Not worth it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had no issues with the coffee pot side so far, all my main problems are with the Espresso side. First off water is not hot enough, it is warm. The water flow is supposed to stop when the correct amount has been used, however it keeps going. So much so that it makes my cup overflow causing issues. True let down and don't get me started on the frother part.

Don’t waste your money go with the other brand

Espresso rarely comes out hot. I follow directions to a T and it’s still luke warm.
Also the espresso side will drip long after you’ve turned it off causing the drip tray to overflow. The frother really doesn’t work well either. The coffee side is great. Makes a great cup of coffee and very easy to program.

Great all in one machine
