Glad I bought the Joule Turbo sous vide—I haven’t looked back. Easy to use—WiFi works well from my cell phone. If you just follow the directions for your recipe you’ll get perfect results. I’ve done asparagus as well as ribeye steaks, chicken and fish filets. Everything has come out juicy and flavorful. What a difference compared to stove, oven or grill cooking. Trying to get my buddy to invest in one—he’s really thinking about it!!
Received the Joule turbo sous vide upgrade the other day. We have been through two of the regular Julie souv vides since 2019. They don’t last a long time and I thought after the second one went bad, we would upgrade. I found out right away. The turbo sous vide requires a new app, and the old app doesn’t work. The new app is very unimpressive not user-friendly and the reason I returning this turbo sous vide.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My first sous vide so I have nothing to compare it to, but whatever I’ve cooked so far has come out delicious. I knocked a star off because I’ve found out that it’s not useful for defrosting. From researching I’ve found that best way to defrost is at 40f. Lowest temp that this goes to is 68f. Maybe they can do a software update to allow lower temp setting or come up with some sort of guidelines on defrosting at 68f. At this price point I’d think that they should have the same capabilities as their competitors. I do like the magnetic bottom.
After my old Joule bit the dust after 4 years of long cooks and constant use, I got the new Turbo. The connectivity between the wi-fi, bluetooth and the app seems to be better; no waiting for a temperature update now. It gets to temperature a bit faster than the old stick. But really, it didn't need to get better on the cooking function, because it was already great to begin with. The ability to start the cook while I'm still at the grocery store is great.
I’ve using Breville Joule Turbo and the Original Joule for a couple of months now. Love the apps! Love the recipes/directions! Love the simplicity! Don't hesitate to look for other recipes on other websites. These Joules handle them perfectly. Especially good when cooking for one because the smaller cuts don’t get dried out. I tricked mine out by getting a silicone lid (with the sous vide cutout) for my pots, as well as a larger Rubbermaid plastic container & Lid (with the sous vide cutout). Highly recommend for leaner cuts of meats. Gives you the flavor AND stays moist.
I purchased this a month ago after reviewing many kinds in utube and their comparison brands . Glad I choose this . The power and phone menus and guidelines are easy to use .
What used to be a simple process of selecting your food and cooking it, has now become a nightmare of recipes to wade through. Why can't we just have the simplicity like the first app.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and share this feedback with us. We have passed the message along to the app team for their consideration for the future. We are always working to improve the app, so feedback like this is really helpful.
I have the original model and liked it so much I decided to add the turbo. The app for the standard one showed the capability to add a second one but that does not work. Finally downloaded the new app to work with the turbo but it didn’t allow me to add the old one. Inconvenient but I operate each one separately with their own apps. Great food
