Downgrade from the previous version

I bought this as a replacement for the D2 Mach 1 pro. For anyone doing that, I would suggest holding off. The screen itself is a nicer viewing experience and the satellite communication is a nice feature that you will almost never use. But daily use features have been removed. For example, the Airport Information glance with TONS of airport info including things like frequencies is gone. This is a daily use feature for a private pilot. Yes that info is available elsewhere but having it on your wrist along with runways and weather was incredibly useful. If they are going to push me to Garmin pilot for that info I might as well get all airplane info there and not get a D2. Big miss for me given the cost. Could have saved a lot and gotten a Fenix.

Safety tool

Absolutely loving my D2 Mach 2 Pro. One of the biggest things that gives me peace of mind is the built-in inReach—it’s a game changer. Knowing I can stay connected and call for help even when I’m completely off the grid adds a whole different level of confidence, whether I’m flying, training, or just out exploring.
The watch itself is next level. The features are incredibly detailed, especially for aviation and performance tracking, and it feels like it was designed for people who actually push limits. Battery life is solid, the build quality is premium, and everything just works smoothly.
But honestly, that inReach integration is what makes it stand out for me. It’s not just a smartwatch—it’s a safety tool, a backup plan, and a companion I can rely on anywhere.
If you’re serious about performance and safety, this thing delivers.
