A big red flag! Don’t do it

This watch was given to me as a gift and I'm so sorry I did not send it back. I have been using Garmin avionics formore years than I can count and I've never had an issue with them like this Aviation watch. Garmin has provided absolutely no meaningful tutorial video support to help purchasers’ set up the watch. FYI, it is extremely complicated watch. FYI, The one video that Garmin has on it’s site Is a joke as it does not really teach you anything meaningful.
I do not recommend this watch anyone until such time Garmin puts out a series of short tutorial videos on each of the functions of the watch. Turning to the one video that is online, everything happens so fast and you cannot see exactly what the user is touching and doing.
I was so surprised to find nothing of value online because Garmin is a great company but they dropped the ball on this D2 Mach 2 Pro. Also, I downloaded the entire operator manual which is about 150 pages and it is equally complicated.
I even called Sportys for help and no one there had any clue as to how the watch worked. Another disappointment.

This watch has some great tools to help with flying. I’m impressed with its functionality and abilities. If you’re a pilot who works out and spends any time outdoors this watch is an excellent tool.

I bought this watch about tree weeks ago, overall it has many useful features but there was also room to add a few more functions that where unfortunately left off the table that other models offered like the D2 Mach 1 pro had and the Marq gen 2 offers like...BAROMETRIC ALTIMETER
See when you’ve reached your desired altitude — or get a vibration alert when you reach an altitude where supplemental oxygen may needed. METEOGRAM FEATURE
See graphical indications of MOS forecasts for specific airports2, including projections for temperature trends, wind, dewpoint, sky cover, precipitation probability and more. WEATHER REPORTS
Access aviation weather, including METARs, TAFs and MOS2, to see winds, visibility, barometric pressure and more1. EMERGENCY MODE
Activate to see your best glide speed, estimated glide distance and glide time during an engine-related issue. View a bearing pointer to the nearest airport, and see a list of alternate airports. CONFIGURABLE ALERTS
Set customizable notifications for new METAR and TAF reports, when destination airport conditions change, when crosswind components exceed a threshold and more. Some of these are available when they should all be available for the price. Some maybe on the watch and I haven't found them.. Like MOS FOR EXAMPLE why is this not available?. These things should be 100% available for the price. Hopefully this finds the right ppl and it will have all the similar features as the MARQ gen 2 has beings the D2 Mach 1 PRO had these features as a later generation. Out side of that the silicon band it comes with seems well made the leather band seems a lil cheap. I've oiled it for break in and character but the small straps/cuffs that hold the main band seem as they will give out early on. I can say I honestly love the watch it's very fitting but if you're gonna make a mission based watch at least add all the features, It's a small software change that literally cost garmin zero to add to one of their higher end watches.. That's my rant thanks for reading hope it helps.

Software issues
on July 25, 2026

I purchased the D2 Mach 1 Pro and really enjoyed the watch . Decided I wanted the D2 Mach 2 Pro for the ability To send texts and talk on the phone. That has not happened, as apparently there's some sort of software issue . If I had known this, I would've stuck with the other Garmin watch I had. For anybody who’s looking to purchase the D2 Mach 2 Pro with Voice features, I would highly recommend staying away from this watch until the software issues are resolved.

Overall a good watch but I expected a better watch for the Garmin flagship of aviation watches.

Upgraded from the D2 Mach 1 Pro. The phone capability and features are a great upgrade. I don’t understand why the watch does not offer an Airport Info glance like the Mach 1 Pro did. Hopefully they add this to a future upgrade.

I have used GARMIN Pilot for years, have had the D2 Charlie watch and just update my cockpit with GARMIN “glass cockpit) avionics. Therefore I am a GARMIN FAN!
