Great little units, easy to install.

I am pleased with how well these little units cool. My daughter's 3 ton AC unit went out on a very hot week, so I bought 2 of these 6,000 btu units to help give some relief. One was installed in the master bedroom and the other in the Living Room. Their combined capacity was only 1/3 of what their central unit was, but they did an incredible job of cooling down the house. Not that they covered all the rooms of course, but with fans to help circulate, they were able to reduce the humidity and temperature, and the family could get by until the failed central unit could be replaced.

An Efficient Economic Choice

I bought this model to replace a 15 year old, 5,000 BTU model. As far as cooling goes, it's much more efficient than the one it replaced. Two things though; the filter can be troublesome when reinstalling it, and the vents can't be adjusted to blow higher or lower. Other than that this is a solid product and I highly recommend it if you need to cool a small cabin or a good sized room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The overall design makes installation fairly easy, even if you have 75 years of paint to cut thru just to get the sash up. When I did tho, it fit right in that ancient window frame. A little drilling and screwdriver is all you need. It cools this room quickly and easily. I often have to turn it down or off once in a while. Its good to know you can still depend on GE!

Great AC

I purchased this AC unit based on the positive reviews. It cools very well. It is quiet and not as heavy as the older units. I purchased this to replace an older unit, a different brand. I have a GE Stove and dishwasher. I am very pleased.

Great Upgrade From Older 6k BTU Unit

Replaced a 70+ dB unit with this 6000 BTU model. It runs in the low to mid-50 dB range and is noticeably quieter. No window rattle when properly secured. Keeps a Florida bedroom cool even heading into summer. Filter does need cleaning every couple of weeks during heavy use, which is expected here.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We're also huge fans of this unit and also appreciate how efficient it is at keeping things cool during the hot summer months. We really love the Eco mode, which automatically turns off the fan and compressor when the room is cool enough, reducing your utility costs.

Based on ease of installation and setup, I give this air conditioner a 5. We tested it and it ran quietly. Living in the cool Northeast I haven’t had the opportunity to use it!
