My old David Clark headset was great for 20 years, but it was time for a new one. What a difference ANC makes! I am very pleased with this Bose A20. Bluetooth connectivity can also be a safety feature for lost comm if you're in, or can get to a cell service area. I have ZID, ZOB, and ZAU phone numbers in my phone. Note that I can't rate "durability" because I have only had this headset a few weeks.
I bought this headset to early in my training when I started my commercial rating in the Beech Bonanza. It was amazing the first time I put it on and was able to concentrate without having a headache from the loud engine noise. Now as a CFI I use them all the time while flying. This headset allows me conduct my job while flying as well as protect my hearing as well. Still the greatest purchase I have ever made!!!!!
I have had my A20's for about a year. I use then in a R44 doors on and off and they work great in all applications. I would like to see more color options like other products by Bose.
I am a 2000 hour Cessna 182 pilot. I have used Lightspeed Zulu and Gen 2 and now Gen 3 Bose A20. The Bose headsets are far and away tops in noise reduction, audio quality and battery life. I fly out of Hanscom AFB, a busy field with lots of corporate jets and mil aircraft. Mistaken communications are not an option at this field!
Just an outstanding product and worth the money if you fly almost every day. Buy some rechargeable batteries. Only got 26 hours before changing them out. The noise cancelling had me grinning every time I turned it on.
I am impressed by the sound quality. I was pleased that the headset came with the storage bag and aux cable. My iPhone connected with Bluetooth and I can hear both phone and music. The headset is lightweight and very comfortable.
I fly for a living with 30+ years of corporate jet experience and use my Bose heat set on every flight. I wouldn't trade my Bose headset for any other set on the market.
