I've been flying fixed wing since 92 and switched over to RW 3 years ago. That is when my research for a new headset led me to the A20.
In the summer, here is my most common scenario:
Doors off
Lots of noise
Always run a hot mic for intercom

I never have any issues with noise bleeding in thru the mic, even with my head hanging outside in an out-of-ground effect hover. I have had no issues and highly recommend this product to any pilot. I'll be installing a pair in my helmet as well, once I save up. Oh, and the coiled chord upgrade was all of 2 minutes installation.

5000 hours in bush Alaska!

Bought my headset in 2011. I've put 5000 hours on that same headset and only sent it in once for repair. It has endured countless airplane swaps, -30 degree over nights in airplanes, multiple short legs per day and normal bush Alaska abuse. Pretty impressive headset with great noise cancellation from turbines to pistons. You will not be disappointed.

I fly multiple aircraft, ranging from single piston to twin jet prop. All are relatively noisy ships. There are some other leading brand and comparable headsets in some of our aircraft. However, the Bose A20 is our preferred. More quiet and comfort.

Bose a20 Headset

I've been using the Bose a20 headset now for 2 weeks and have been very satisfied with it. The noise cancelling is excellent. A huge difference from my DC's I had been using. Very pleased with the Bluetooth feature as well. Only down side of the product is when you put them back in the little bag they come with, you just kind of shove the chord in with the headset.

Great sound

I bought the A20's hoping that they would be at least as good as the QC25's at cancelling the sound of the 172 I am learning in. They are even better at it. They sound great and work with every bluetooth device I have. I have been using them at the office too for calls with customers too. Only downside is that Bose does not make a cable or adapter to use directly into a computer. Would be nice for flight sims.

Recently switched from the Telex 850 ANR to the Bose A20. What an incredible difference. While the 850s are lighter, the A20 is a more comfortable headset. 850s tend to clamp down right on the ear, whereas the full cup of the A20 fits around the ear to distribute the pressure over a greater area. The active noise cancellation is amazing. I was impressed with how quiet it was and then I realized I hadn't even turned the headset on! The Bluetooth features are an added bonus. Easy setup and use. Should have bought them a long time ago. Hot mic is absolutely no issue. I fly the 560XL with hot mic open and its whisper quiet. Only thing I'm trying to resolve is how to manage the cord and finding a better spot to store the headset after a flight. All in all a 9/10.

You get what you pay for

If you know this is what you want to do for a living or for the rest of your life then purchasing this product would be in your best interest. For the amount you pay for them you certainly get the value out of it. It's the best aviation headset on the market for a reason. After wearing these for a few flights I forget I'm even wearing them. Used to have David Clarks which would hurt my head after an extended period of time flying. These don't use nearly the same clamping force as the DC's so my head doesn't hurt when wearing them. Noise cancelling wasn't as good as I expected: because I expected to not be able to hear anything but the audio in my ears. They still allow me to monitor engine and cockpit noises.

Simply The Best!

I've been using this headset for several years at work in a B-737NG and in General Aviation flying a Piper Cherokee. It works great in both cockpits whether using hot mic or not. I disagree with the review indicating the headset is useless in a hot mic environment. I have had no problems with the A20 headset while using hot mic. The B-737 and Cherokee have very noisy cockpits causing significant barriers to communication as well as fatigue. Using the Bose A20 improves communications as well as significantly reduces fatigue--a huge improvement in safety as well as comfort!
