The Bose A20 is very comfortable and aids in mitigating some of the challenges associated with flying, such as fatigue and clear communications. The Airbus is a relatively quiet and very comfortable cockpit, but what using the Bose A20 does is simply compliment the advanced features present and provides most outstanding music/communication quality sound. It is a pleasure to fly with. Highly recommend!
I've had my A20 for 3 years now ... by far the best headset I've used in my career. The noise canceling is excellent, the headset is comfortable to wear, and I've said many times that it's almost a shame to have such quality speakers in an aviation headset that isn't being used for music all the time. The only reason I would rate this less than 5 stars - I'm always afraid I might break something on the headset. The plastic shell feels slightly less than durable. But with careful handling so far, it has held up. Great product overall.
I have had the pleasure of using all of the Bose series headsets from original through A20. No doubt they have the best sound performance of any, by far. The noise cancellation is unmatched, thus drastically reducing noise fatigue and the fatigue associated with trying to hear and focus on comm. The headband and earseals are very comfortable and able to be used on long (up to 6+ hrs in a 737 cockpit). People that have not used noise cancellation will have a learning curve and small adjustment to the "new" noises they hear, or hear less of, but it will pay dividends in protecting your hearing, and giving you an additional tool to be safer in any cockpit. A bad review of these headsets shows lack of understanding or most likely operator error. Thanks.
Bought these and after 25 hours the automatic shutoff stopped working. Sent back for repair. After another 50 hours the automatic shutoff ceased to function. Lived with that until now at total 140 hours one side of the headsets is dead. Im going to contact Bose to see about repair again before they shut down completely. Waste of time
After I got my CFI my friend let me borrow his. Made me want to buy my own. After hours in the plane everyday I don't get the ringing in my head like my last headset.
They use wool for the headband pad, no need to tell most people what wool can feel like on the scalp. My pax the other day were probably wondering what was wrong with me, not the image I want....
