Have used Bose aviation headsets for nearly my entire civilian career, and they have single-handedly saved my hearing. They are also very durable, as well as intuitive to use. The warranty is top notch, and the customer service is responsive and very accommodating. Highly recommend these headsets. Only slight drawback, which is not technically about the headset, is the carrying case is soft and does not really provide much protection.
I bought this headset for my private pilot and my flight training at the University of North Dakota. This headset does a good job limiting sound without it turned on and when flipped on, you hear nothing until a radio call. Works fantastic and is super comfortable to wear. Thanks Bose for a high quality headset!
Love the sound quality, ANR, and the fit. They are definitely big-head certified (I wear a 7 1/2 to 7 5/8 hat size) unlike the "David-Clamps." Only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I know that I will need a lighter headset for the airline game as my ears tend to get uncomfortable/sore after 2-3 hours of continuous flight AND due to the mic boom going INOP after a few years. I absolutely baby these things and the mic refuses to pic up any chatter. HOWEVER, Mr. "PD48804" at Bose Aviation Support was a lot of help in getting new parts at no cost.
Bit of advice, if you are caught between the bluetooth and non-bluetooth... pony up for only an extra hundred bucks.
First of all I would like to say Bose did good job with the shipping, on time, no delay, box was in a safe place, every item was inside the box nothing is missing. I flew today first time with the A20, AMAZING. Super comfortable, light, and amazing sound quality as well as stable Bluetooth connection.
I really love this headset. My only regret was not getting them sooner! I bought my first pair with the promise of 2-Day Shipping. It was more like 5-Days. Don’t get your hopes up. Granted, not their fault. They shipped it out on time as promised, but the third party just dropped the ball. Not a huge deal, but something worth mentioning.
Back to the product. The first pair was defective. The noise can canceling Was going in and out periodically during the flight. The base would bleed through and was awkward to endure. As a CFI, you can you imagine how annoying that must’ve been. No big deal though. I contacted Bose, explained what happened, and they told me to ship it back and that they’d send a new one to me.
As promised, I got the replacement pair. This one works like a charm. Customer service reps were on point and really took care of me and my situation. They were empathetic and caring.
Even though, the first pair had a factory defect, I still give them a 5 Star rating. It was a anomaly at best, they were very responsive to the issue, and they made things right. Bose just got a customer for life!
I have had these for about five years and have not had any issues with them. I’ve had them through Instrument, Commercial, and CFI training. I now teach four days/10ish hours per week and they are always ready to go and put up with the abuse of a 172. I’ve even used them while cutting the grass at the airport, and still they’ve held up. I have replaced the ear cups and mic screen once.
My ONLY complaint, if any, would be that they can be slightly uncomfortable after a few hours while wearing sunglasses. I feel like would occur with any headset, though.
Owned the headset for six months and the mic boom has failed on it. Reading many reviews it seems to be a known issue, but parts tend to be sent out in a couple days.
I’ve waited two weeks and potentially have to wait another 2 weeks for parts. I may as well of bought a spare headset to have sitting around.
Please improve your cable assembly, pilots have to scramble to find a headset to do their job. As you know the headset is the main piece of equipment for a pilot so when it goes down its very frustrating especially for the price of it.
I bought this in July and it is worth every penny. The noise cancelling is superb, it is very comfortable and it is worth the price tag. Sound quality is fantastic and mic has great clarity.
