Love everything about this headset! I do wish music could be blue toothed, but that's a small issue. I don't understand the problem mentioned before with the hot mike? I flew on the Air Bus 330 with hot mike and never had an issue.
Traded in a couple of Aviation X headsets for the new A20 in my Cirrus SR22 (Lemo panel powered) when the A20 was new and was a little disappointed that I had to switch the noise reduction on every time I started up. I understand newer versions have auto-on as well as Bluetooth audio. It would be nice to have a reasonable cost upgrade path for those of us who were early adopters.
The title says it all the "but" is the material used for ear cushions breaks down quickly. The headset is primarily used by myself about 200hrs a year and requires replacement one a year.
Undoubtedly, best sound in the cockpit. However, I find that the ear cushions get hot in flight. By the time I'm on final, I cannot wait to take the sweaty cushions off my head.
A lot can be said about head phones used in aviation. I was at first very skeptical of dishing out the money for a set of Bose headphones as a beginner in aviation but once I tried out a set of the A20 Headsets, I was impressed with the exceptional quality and comfort. The clarity is exceptionally great and the design so futuristic. Aesthetics apart I would recommend them to anyone if I had my way, I would without a doubt mandate that everyone buy a pair..
