Lever is very stiff

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in February and it seems like it’s a step down from my old one. The control lever is very stiff and takes a strong person to turn it on. I read the instructions where it mentions it and that you need to lift up while pulling forward. This is my 6th kitchen aid mixer that I’ve purchased including the four for my daughters and it’s the only one that is so hard to use.

No flat beater

Just bought this and there is no flat beater. Just the beater with the flexible edge… poor form indeed. Buyers beware!

Frustratingly unreliable

When I got this stand mixer for Christmas a year ago I could not have been more thrilled. Unfortunately I have had a terrible experience using this mixer. Every time I try and make a dough with even a little thickness the bowl unseats itself from the base. That means I have to sit and hold the bowl in place while the mixer does its thing. Not to mention the paddles appear to be scraping against the bottom of the bowl wearing through their coating and leaving black metal specs in my food. The head bounces like crazy and always has I can't help be incredibly disappointed in this product. I was hoping this would be an appliance that would last me at least through college but the only thing it's been good for is merings. If you're looking for a mixer capable of handling tough jobs a hand mixer can't do this is not the place to look.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The machine color looks good and it works, but the quality is not what I expected. The silver ring at the base of the machine head is not installed correctly and there’s a gap on one side where liquids could leak inside the machine. There’s no gap on the opposite side so it’s clearly a manufacturing flaw. I had another Kitchenaid stand mixer before that I really liked, but this feels like the quality has really eroded.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything else I’ve used it for was great and I love the color. My old one was white so I went for a change.
