Got as a Christmas present from my mom because I buy meat in bulk. This is the absolute worst. I have to pull out and reposition the gaskets after ever vacuum or else it won’t seal or vacuum. I was so excited for this and I gave it a good chance but after the third time using I give up.

My rating is based upon what they advertised versus what I got. They advertised the Foodsaver VS3130 as Stainless Steel, it's not. It's silver plastic and looks like crap amongst my other stainless steel appliances. They advertised this as having the Sous Vide vacuum mode; it doesn't. It was one of the main reasons I ordered this vacuum sealer. I tried to submit a complaint to them through their website, but after spending half an hour filling out their form and searching for the required "date code", I submitted the form and it came back as try again later. Form erased. Twice.

We have owned foodsavers for years now and couldn't luve without it! This model does everything. It's fast, relatively quiet and saves us a ton of money!
Here is "my" review I hope you find it useful. I've had my machine for about 2 years now. I have used it to save everything from spaghetti sauce and soup stocks to various Meats. It performs flawlessly! When I finally wear this thing out I will immediately buy another. It is without a doubt the best kitchen tool I have invested in since my KitchenAid stand mixer. I absolutely love this machine. I had bagged Chile that I had made last year. I had forgotten completely about it. found it burried in my freezer, as an experiment I heated it up and tried it. The flavors were as good as the day I had made it. And I make some darned good chile. It has become a must-have tool for me. Buy it you won't be disappointed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the VS3120 model as a Christmas gift. I was super excited it could vacuum seal soups and other liquids. However I've tried it several times on soups and it does not work very well at all. We have a older model that we have used for years on meats and dry items, and that one is great. The only good thing it has going for it is it can hold the roll so you don't have that separate from the food saver.

Hello!
Thank you for your feedback!
Before you vacuum seal liquids such as soup stock, pre-freeze in a casserole dish, loaf pan or ice cube tray until solid. Remove frozen liquid from pan and vacuum seal in a FoodSaver ® Bag. You can stack these “frozen bricks” in your freezer. When you’re ready to use, just cut corner of bag and place in a dish in microwave or drop into water at a low simmer, below 170°F (75°C).
You may also pre-freeze the liquid in a FoodSaver ® Bag, for about 1 hour, then take it out and vacuum seal it, just like any other type of food.
For units compatible with our FoodSaver ® Preserve and Marinate Containers, we also recommend vacuum sealing the liquids, like soup, in there.
If you have any more questions or require any further assistance, please reach out to us via https://www.foodsaver.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time.
