We do understand your disappointment with the laptop and the inconvenience this may have caused if you have been experiencing problems since day one. CPU heat throttling is normal when
excessive heat is generated while the laptop is under heavy load. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. To resolve this, ensure the air ventilation is free from obstructions to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. You can regulate the temperature by configuring your system, video, game and operating mode setting inside the Armoury Crate utility software. The most current version is available for download at: https://armoury-crate.com/
To resolve the bottlenecking and unable to play games, check if Windows, drivers, BIOS, application, and games are up to date. Updates for the laptop are posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-g18-2025/helpdesk_download/. Additionally, reconfigure your system, video, games and operating mode inside the Armoury Crate utility software. While accessing cloud games or web applications, ensure the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. Keeping the laptop always updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "MyASUS" utility software or application. I have loved this laptop for the short time that I've had it and I hope to share more moments gaming with it in the future! However for the staggering price of 3.5K there are a lot more problems that I have had with this than my old computer that costed less. First off, every time i open a game like Overwatch or Fortnite (any big game will do) it freezes before opening, which while it does not impact me directly, it is pretty annoying considering that this laptop is supposed to be a beast. Also I had a pretty bad scare with the CPU overheating. I had the laptop on sleep mode when I checked on it and not only did it smell burnt plastic but the back of the laptop felt like I could fry an egg on it. Another issue that I have is FPS drops, this is the most annoying when I play any first person shooter because I have to tweak every setting to make sure that everything is perfect to not experience awful lag from FPS drops, however its also safe to assume that some of this was caused by Windows 11 with how faulty it tends to be. Anyways other than that I don't have much else really "bad" to say about this laptop, graphics on it are amazing, RGB looks amazing, fans are quiet, and the laptop runs great when I'm not playing first person shooters! Overall this laptop was great and I don't have a single regret purchasing it!
