This is my second Kiwibit feeder. Also the second one that has a problem recharging with the built in solar panel. I charged it with the cable indoors the first time and it lasted maybe four days. No matter how hard I push the cable into the receptacle on the back it doesn’t recharge by solar. Why should it be this difficult???
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing! I had no idea we had this many species of birds in our back yard. The AI identification is fantastic! As soon as I find the best way to stop the squirrels then this would be perfect.

Purchased this to replace a very similar Bird Buddy model. My wife - the recipient - says the plastic is thicker, and the feeder itself is more sturdy. Double solar panels are a huge plus. Far easier to fill/refill than the previous feeder. Camera is better. AI recognition seems more accurate. And we have it mounted on top of a 1" feeder pole, which makes the feeder less likely to get blown around in storms, etc.

I love the ease of adding seed, slowing the emptying of seed and clear instructions to set up and the additional feed kit. I also have a Bird Buddy and that camera surpasses Kiwi camera in close up clarity. That piece was disappointing since it is 2000 v 4000 for the Kiwi.
