I started using them in scouts a few years back. The original plastic ones would slide against another coole6and get broken. The metal hinge of the latch stops that, but you still have plastic handle to protect other coolers.i used ten 120qt. coolers on a weekend outing and the boys shoved them into a trailer or pickup truck. After replacing latches with hybrid no more issues.

Seems to perform fine, so far. Had to adjust where exactly the positioning of unit as didn't line-up w/ existing holes. Haven't used yet since installation. Install was simple.

I love these hinges on my large igloo cooler. It is the beer cooler at parties and these hinges look like they are up to the challenge of lots of use.

Latch Replacement

Easy, 5 minute replacement. Used existing screws since they were larger than the ones that were sent, otherwise the holes would have been larger and the new screws would not tighten up the new latch. Also, I did not install the new male piece since the old one worked perfectly. I kept the new piece and screw(s) for a future install if required. This Igloo is 25 years old and this is the first issue that has developed.
