Compact and Quiet
on June 9, 2024

Just received the unit and powered it up for the first time today, so this review just covers my initial reactions. First, this unit is very compact - it is roughly the same size and weight, but double the power as an older 1800/2070W Generator that I was replacing. It is also significantly quieter (probably less than half as loud). The built-in telescoping handle, wheels, power meter display, electric start, and CO sensor are all great bonus features. This is primarily to be used as an emergency residential backup generator, so the main reasons I chose this model were the low THD output (suitable for powering more sensitive electronic devices) and the ability to run off propane (no more worrying about fuel stabilizer and gas going bad).
I only did limited testing so far, but after connecting the battery, adding oil, and hooking up the propane tank, the unit started easily with the electric start and quickly reached a stable output voltage. I plugged in a kill-a-watt meter to verify that it measured the same voltage as what was displayed on the generator panel - they matched (124V). I connected an upright freezer as a test load and the generator held steady with no noticeable dip in voltage.
I did have a few minor issues: first, although the unit arrived in good condition and was well-packed, the battery was not properly secured inside. There was a strap inside the compartment, but it was loose and not attached to anything and there were not pictures or guides in the manual to show how it should be properly attached.
The second issue is that the access cover over the oil fill / dipstick / drain is too small. It is not possible for an adult male to fit a hand inside this area. Worse, the drain bolt is offset so it will be very difficult to even get a wrench on the drain bolt.
Poor access to the oil drain is probably the biggest weakness with this generator that I've seen so far and the only thing keeping it from 5 stars. It seems it would be pretty easy to fix (or at least improve) with a slight re-design to the plastic side-wall / cover.

I replaced my Champion generator of equal size and features with this one and I'm quite pleased! It's much quieter and is quite efficient and very easy to use. A lot of thought and engineering went into this machine. Even keeping up with maintenance is easier due to the display and design. I highly recommend!

So Far So Good

Set up was easy. Don't forget to oil air filter. Only issue I had with initial setup was adding nearly all of the supplied oil overfilled the oil pan and leaked out, and because of that, overflowed a bit while running.
My next biggest issue of the day was taking off the side access panel. It's easy enough with some initial force, but it would have been nice if it was toolless (which is the reason for 4, not 5, stars).
I ran it for 5 hours with variable loads. It ran my smoker and provided a meal for the evening. It was nice and quiet, too.
Overall, for the one day, it was a worthwhile investment. I'll be updating my review if anything changes.

Needed a new generator to replace my 25-year-old Coleman and this one is much quieter and takes up less space.

Good Generator for Home Use

Good for when power goes out. Electric start is nice to have and like the flexibility that dual fuel option provides. Oil access panel could be enlarged to make filling and changing oil easier, but overall generator works good.

I got this generator recently. It came fully assembled and all accessory parts were included. All I had to do was add the oil (supplied) and gas. It started after a few pulls and ran just as advertised. It's relatively quiet and supplies just enough power for my needs.

Dual fuel is the way to go. No need to carry extra gasoline when the trailer has propane.
