First Generator

As my first (maybe only?) generator, I wanted to plan for it to take care of every need I might have. When the school bus is remodeled, it will be my home. Being mobile, not knowing where I'll be, if noise restrictions would be an issue, or what fuel options I'll have, I wanted to be prepared for any contingency, able to send energy to as many appliances as necessary. So far I've run a handful of tools to include angle grinders and a 120V welder off of it, and have zero issues.

Quiet!

I am so happy with how quiet this generator is compared to others I have used. The 4 stroke engine and cover really damp down the noise. I have it on my deck just outside the living room, and with the doors an windows closed it makes a minimal impact. Also love running it on propane.

Impressive

After a great deal of research I decided on this generator due to its great reviews, low decibel level, and high wattage to cost ratio. It arrived today and I followed the instructions on adding oil, connecting battery, and making the necessary connection to the propane tank. The unit cranked on first push of the remote and I ran three different accessories at various wattage to test output. This generator is very quiet for its size and it seems the noise level does not significantly increase when I increase load (which changes RPM in ECO mode). Overall at this point I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Poor Performance

I purchased this generator in May 2019 and it has stopped starting either remote or otherwise. The rip cord handle fell off, I never used the handle! The fuel float is broke and when I started it with gasoline, all of the gasoline came pouring out of the bottom of the unit! Several other issues, too many to name.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After 3 PGE-mandated power outages in 6 weeks, I bought the generator for my home. It is more than enough power to keep the TV, fridge, a couple of lights, microwave, coffee pot, internet, etc., going during the day. It is quiet relative to other generators I hear in my neighborhood, and I liked the idea of propane as it is easy to access and requires less maintenance than gas. It was easy to set up. The LED readout does not seem to be tracking running hours -- displays "F00" which does not correlate to the manual.

Perfect for my needs!

I bought the 4500DF very recently. I live in a rural, mountainous area, and frequent outages to my cabin required to finally get a backup generator. Dual fuel, inverter, and so quiet! I placed it on my deck by a window and barely sounds like an in wall AC unit! Plenty of power for my fridge and router so I can keep connected to the net. I also loved that the unit came with everything to get’r up and running in minutes, big up for a gen novice like me. Now I have peace of mind I’ll have power during these unprecedented outages. Thumbs up, Westinghouse!
