Great emergency Generator

Bought the Westinghouse iGen4500DF generator as an emergency back up for my house. The generator was very simple and easy to setup and get running. Instructions were easy to follow and the units layout for control is simple to understand.

I was concerned about some shipping damage to the cardboard carton. Upon opening the box there was no discernible damage, so I finished unpacking, plugged in the battery, added included oil, and hooked up the propane regulator. It started with a touch of a button. I’ve since tried multiple loads, including a 1hp compressor, 1200 watt heat gun and numerous saws. So far everything has worked beautifully.
I’ve also been running it for the last 7 hrs on gasoline. I’ve started it with the key fob, and the pull starter, everything has been as hoped for. Very pleased on this first day.

So far, I have only done the initial start up on my new IGEN4500DF.
Getting to the initial startup was extremely easy.
Hookup the battery via SAE connectors at the back of the machine.
Fill the engine with the provided oil.
Fill the gas tank with gasoline, or hook up your propane hose to the provided regulator and hose.
Turn the fuel source dial to which ever fuel source position you are using.
Turn the ECO mode off, and the battery switch on.
Then do any one of the following: pull the recoil starter, or push the push button start on the front panel, or use the remote start FOB that is provided.
I used the remote start FOB for the first time from in the house, and it fired up on the first attempt. AWESOME!
Full tank of gasoline (3.5gal) shows 21hrs of run time on the digital gauge, with no load drawn from the inverter. Impressive!
I'm going to let it run for about 3hrs, as an initial break-in period.
Taking it camping with us next month, and I will be running it on LP and gasoline then.

I wish there was a specific heavy duty cover for this model, so I could keep it setup on the tongue of my travel trailer all the time, without worry. Let's go Westinghouse, make it happen. A specific cover for this unit, not a one and done universal cover.
I will update after we actually use this camping.
I only gave it 4 stars due to my initial impression, that may go up or down after it is run , used as it is supposed to be.
