Easy setup.

I bought this for boondocking with my travel trailer. It was a good value, and exceeds my power requirements. Very easy and intuitive setup. I had it running in about an hour on propane. I've only run it on propane so far, and plan to use propane the majority of the time.

I recently bought the iGen4500DF generator to be prepared for hurricane season in Florida and for camping. I chose this generator after tons of research because I wanted something powerful enough to run 2 refrigerators, fans, and several lights in my house during power outages. I also loved how quiet it is so it’s perfect for any camp site or RV resort. Since it’s an inverter generator it runs at lower rpm’s if you don’t have a lot plugged into it so that means it’ll run quieter under less that full load. Other generators I’ve had were so low I couldn’t take the noise and they weren’t allowed at RV parks. It’s just as quiet as the smaller 2200 generators but has twice the power of needed. I haven’t had it long enough for a long term review but so far I’m really happy with my decision. Very nice machine. I did not have the automatic choke wire issue like I’ve read in other reviews, mine worked perfect out of the box.

Very Good So Far

Purchased in case of hurricane power loss. Thankfully I have not had to use it yet. I did start it under both propane and gas as fuel. Worked just fine. It was a struggle to free the screw in order to drain the float bowl. Finally got it to turn after a couple application of mystery oil. Should be much easier in the future.

Great Home Backup, RV, Camping Dual Fuel Generator

The Texas Winter Storm of 2021 was an eye opener for my family. With an infant at home, not having a backup to grid power in these times was a risk I couldn't take any longer. This purchase has given me complete piece of mind knowing I have a backup emergency power source for my family. The dual fuel option is great since gas shelf life is so short. Inverter model is safe for all electronics, etc. All you need!

I purchased my first iGen4500DF a little over a month ago. It arrived and I checked it all over before getting started to be sure nothing was cracked or broken. Everything looked great. I hooked the battery up, put the oil in and filled it with gas. I tried to start it and it would not fire. After several attempts I realized it was not getting fuel. I hooked the propane up and it started right away. I let it run for a few minutes and tried running it on gas again. No luck. I went through the instructions a few times looking for a gas shut off but I couldn’t find anything of assistance. I checked online and found people had problems with the choke so I tried that with no success. I checked the bowl and got fuel. I contacted Westinghouse for help. I was told it was a faulty unit and they provided me with an email to start a claim. After a couple days they sent me another email letting me know I could return the generator to the store before the 30 days was up. I ordered a new one and then returned the first one without issue. The second generator arrived and the box was beat up but the everything inside appeared fine. This time it started on gas and propane without issue. This is a nice generator and runs quiet. I like having the option of gas or propane and feel it was worth the extra money. Overall I think this is a good generator and I understand sometimes even new parts are not manufactured properly. I believe the issue with my first generator was the fuel selector switch but I did not want to get to far into a repair or claim since I was able to return it without issue.
