Nice and quiet

I haven't had a lot of use for it yet, but so far I really like the fact that it runs off of propane. A fuel u can store 4 years.

Performance under actual backup situation

The iGen4500DF performed as expected during a 4+ hour power outage. It appeared to have no problem powering: refrigerator, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, 2 circuits of lights and receptacles. This generator runs quietly, relatively speaking. It is very easy to set up and connect loads to.

Quiet. Portable, as opposed to open frame

I bought this only 2 weeks ago. I'm very happy w performance and capabilities, as well as its versatility to go between power sources. Having a key fob for rainy times is not a bad perk, either

Super quiet and good for a woman!

Why good for a woman? Let me explain. We live in Southern California and every year the Santa Ana winds kick up but last year was really bad and we lost power for several days. Since we did not expect this to happen we were unprepared. Our friends who had power let us lend their generator. I quickly learned that if I did not have a husband I would have been out of luck. I'm not some wimp here, I work out and I think I am decent shape but this thing was unruly, difficult if not impossible for me to move around, and I absolutely could not start it on my own since it was a pull start. Not too mention it made the loudest racket! Don't get me wrong I was grateful to have the power for several days but I thought, never again!
So we bought this Westinghouse iGen4500. It took a bit to get started the first time since the automatic choke wasn't adjusting correctly and the instructions told us to fill the reservoir with the entire bottle of oil it came with which was waaay too much as it began spilling out! But once we got those issues sorted (my husband just manually adjusted the choke to get it started and then after that it did it on it's own every time) this thing was so easy to start since it has a push button start (in addition to the pull start) and it even has a remote! It is super quiet and it has a telescoping handle and large wheels so I can easily move it around!
Why everything in life isn't made to be this easy beats me.

How to decrease the hieght of the unit
on October 20, 2020

I want to install the unit in a secure 36x20x20 diamond plate box, bolted to a cargo carrier on my RV with room for two 40lb propane tanks and a flexible exhaust pipe and venturi chimney that parallels (and is supported by) the ladder up and beyond the roof line. The unit height is 20. Can I get an inch or two height decrease by removing the rear wheels, front bumpers and maybe the handle? Anyone have a photo of the bottom?

Beautiful generator!

Check oil before filling. Mine came 50% full and easily overfilled making a big mess. Also check fuel tank drain bolt. Heard horror stores about this bolt being loose and making a huge mess during fueling.
