The generator starts right up with 1 or 2 pulls. It runs smooth and fairly quiet. Getting to that point required a little more work than expected. First, there were loose bolts that required tightening. Second, the generator arrives with "support brackets" that must be removed prior to operation. The instruction packet has a picture of support brackets. The problem is the packet doesn't identify where the brackets are located and the ones in the picture don't match the actual brackets. After communication with Westinghouse I was able to locate and remove them. Additionally, although the WGen3600 comes with a wheel kit and handle, the WGen3600v model does not...would have appreciated that being in the description.
We have not been able to use it yet, but it arrived in perfect condition and seems to be all that was advertised. We are happy to have it for the upcoming summer.
box damaged, frame slightly bent and unit not sitting level, ground terminal bent. unit started 1st pull and should meet my emergency power requirement.
I purchased this generator as I live in the boonies and power can go out when the wind blows. I'm a 60 year old widow and needed something that wasn't going to be too difficult to start. I received my generator, followed the instructions, filled with oil and gas, turned the switches and gave the cord a few tugs. It felt great when it started after only 4 or 5 pulls! I now feel comforted knowing I have power when I need it. I knew I could trust the Westinghouse brand!
