I purchased this unit brand new on 8-30-24. I registered and did a review to get a free cover for it. At this point I was happy with my purchase. Then… On the 2nd trip with around 15 hours on the unit, it failed and caused the trip to be ended early. I took it to the closest certified service center and it has been there for over 30 days. They are having a hard time getting the parts from Westinghouse. As I am waiting for repair I never did receive my free cover. They sent a chunk of steel in a box. As of today the unit is still sitting on a repair table torn apart. I asked for a replacement unit because i had another trip planned and was told the replacement parts are being sent for repair. Well it is too late. I needed the unit yesterday prompting this review . I went out and bought a different brand for a cheaper price and it is running with no issues. This purchase was a complete let down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this unit to provide emergency power in the event of a power outage, to keep our refrigerators and freezer running, as well as other small appliances. Well packed, solidly built. Starts easy with the electric start which is important for us older folks. My only complaint so far is that the instruction manual does not give any guidance on the battery used to start the unit, ie: How often to charge?, Can you leave it plugged in until needed? Should it be charged before first start? Even WHERE to plug the charger into the generator is not mentioned. Also received 2 proprietary cables that are not mentioned, so I have no idea what they are for. Minor details, but overall very pleased so far.
I PURSCHASED THIS AFTER WE WENT THROUGH HURRICAN HELENA. WAS WITH OUT POWER FOR 4 DAYS. THANKS TO MY IGEN4000 DID NOT LOOSE ANY FOOD AND HAD LIGHTS. RUNS VERY QUIET AND HAS PLENTY OF POWER.
Set up was fairly quick and easy. Just remember when you are adding oil for the first time to connect the wires under the same cover. This thing purrs like a kitten. Have had it for an entire hunting season and it worked flawlessly. We love that it is quiet, has power to operate our appliances, and we can start from inside the RV with the remote start.
Bought this to support a new 5th wheel RV, love the size and weight. They have done a lot of little things to make things easier, specs and data on outside cover, oil bottle w the right volume, plastic molding around oil fill/drain to keep it clean, and a number of other little things. I have not used it yet but if it works as well as the other things have in set up, I’ll be pleased.
