I am new to generators

Purchased June 3rd, 2025. Just now got around to hooking it up. Pre start check list was a little difficult. It was hard to access the battery terminals to hook up the battery cable. Also hard to add oil. I had to get a very long funnel and wasn't sure how much oil to put in. So I had to add a little and then check the dipstick multiple times. The dipstick is also difficult to access and re-insert. After pre-start check list, the generator started right up. However, when I connected it to my house electrical panel, the electricity did not come on. This may be an issue with the electrician who installed the service plug for my electric panel. I will be having him come out to check it out. If it turns out it was his mistake, I will rate this at a 3.5. If it's an issue with the generator, then obviously my rating will go down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This upgrade is a wise decision for added protection. The increased amperage provides a significant advantage during emergencies. The item's sturdy build and ease of use are certainly beneficial. Furthermore, the quality construction gives you peace of mind. With only a five-hour break-in period, it is ready to perform. I'm only going to run propane so I don't have to worry about the problems with storing long-term and gasoline issues.

Bought this and have it set up and it will run the entire house which includes two A/C units. Hope I get through this hurricane season and never have to use it.
