Absolute Monster

This generator is everything you think it is. It is large, and full of power. I purchased this generator primarily due to the fact that it has two 50A outlets. My home has two 150A panels side by side, and in order to make hooking a generator up easily and cost effectively, this was the generator for me. I have a 50A inlet per panel on the outside of my home, feeding a 50A breaker with interlock kit. This generator allows me to run everything in my home to include my 5 ton and 2.5 ton A/C units. The A/C units do have the Micro-Air soft start kits installed on them and I highly recommend them. If you are reading this review, then you know that losing power is inevitable, and the real question is how prepared are you? At literally less than 1/3rd the price of a whole home standby generator, this setup is an absolute no brainer. We have enough horsepower to power our home and manage the inconvenience. If you are on the fence, I can assure you that an investment in a generator is absolute peace of mind. This generator outputs < 5% total harmonic distortion which was a huge feature for me as well. If you are in the market for a large generator, you literally get what you pay for and this WGEN20000 is the cream of the crop. You will not be disappointed.

Solid generator with great features

I bought this generator as a backup for a possible power outage at our home. The generator seems very solidly built and should serve us well. I was particularly impressed by the dual fuel functionality, which will provide multiple options for use of either gas or propane. The only thing that I was surprised about was that the unit did not come with pneumatic tires which I had expected because of its heavy weight. My only hope is that the plastic tire/wheel (never-flat) combination will provide good service without cracking and breaking. Only time will tell about that feature.

I just received my generator. I use it for work. Had a smaller on that was getting a little old. Always wanted a dual fuel but was scared to pull the trigger. Both fuels seem to be working just fine. It's a hoss. The guy asked me that delivered it how was i going to get it off the truck. I said im not

Powers almost everything

I had to wait a long time to find one of these in stock, but eventually received one a week ago. The (large) box was placed in my garage by the delivery company. Assembly was easy sitting on it's wooden pallet. Getting it off the pallet is a different proposition. Be sure that you appreciate how heavy 600lbs really is. You need something capable of lifting that. At the limit, four reasonably strong men could probably take a corner each and lift it while someone pulled the pallet out from beneath it. I used the front loader on my tractor with the bucket removed. The weight is the only negative so far, but I knew that when I bought it. On the topic of weight, I would be very reluctant to try to move this down any sort of hill/slope by hand.
I initially put just over a gallon of gas in the tank. It wasn't enough. Given the size of the tank, I wasn't surprised. Added 5 gallons more, and it started with no problem.
Is it noisy? Well, any generator that runs at 3600 RPM is going to be noisy, but I have a 6kw generator that I have been using to power essential items, such as freezer, water pump, family room lights, microwave, kettle etc. This is, subjectively, no noisier. It is obviously a different sound, twin cylinder vs single, large cooling fan etc. But placed in the same location where I used the old generator, with the doors closed, it is practically inaudible, as was it's predecessor.
Adding a second socket to power the rest of the circuits I was able to power the entire house and run different appliances, water heater, etc. I also tried out the AC, which fired up ok. I don't dare switch it into heat-pump mode though, it has twin 20kw heat strips, and my thermostat is a little too liberal with their use, and there is no way to disable them.
One comment on using the less expensive 50A plastic covered cables. I tried them out in 65°F weather, and even at that temperature, they are very stiff. Mine also have right angled plugs rather than straight which makes plugging them into the generator difficult unless you do it right. The wheel gets in the way if you try to plug in directly. The trick is to lay the cable behind the wheel and plug in the front/leftmost first, then lay the next on top of that and plug in the second. It's easy this way (see the attached photo). Alternatively, pay a lot more for rubber covered cables and/or find cables with straight plugs rather than right angled. It's also worth noting that the plastic covered cables become MUCH more flexible when they are warm, so you might consider storing them indoors rather than next to the generator.

Great Powerhouse, but starter issues
on October 4, 2023

I bought this Generator in November of 2022 and it's been great and easy to use, easily handing whole house power needs. I love how easy it is to maintain and change the oil. Only problem is that the starter had begun to fail after only few months of use. I'm now trying to get it replaced under warranty, it's not exactly a easy machine to move around.

Great generator for jobsites

Just received this but have already used it on a job site. I have it powering two 20 in concrete grinders, two dust collectors and a 5in hand grinder and vac. No hiccups at all. It's pretty large and heavy but moves around ease with the large tires .So far I'm very impressed.

Excellent features and extremely powerful

I was looking for a gasoline powered generator that had enough power to run my whole house as I do not have access to natural gas where I live.I was pleased to find out that the initial setup was a breeze and when it started on the first try I was very pleased, for a huge generator I was quite pleased that it was actually quieter than the General I had at my previous residence.

I purchased this generator a couple of months ago and just had to use it last week. Power was off for 16 hours and it worked great. I highly recommend this generator.
