After purchasing a Generac 5500 about 6 years ago I never used it until we lost power last fall in the Northeast and the Generac ran but did not put out any juice. Started the WGen550 up and purred like a kitten and plugged my drill in and works fine. Hope to have many years of use from this genny. Only problem I see on this machine is once you take the spark plug out it is very difficult to put back in because you fingers cannot get a good grasp on the plug.

Bought the WGEN6000 portable generator for backup power for storms. Live in central Florida and have went thru 2 hurricanes with no generator. Very Quiet for its size

Bought generator for hurricane that missed us, so this review will be off warm up and testing.I am curious if disconnecting the battery is necessary between long periods of no use. One of my biggest and only complaints to this point is the location of the battery positive cable. it is pretty much in the way of the oil dipstick fill location, which makes check/filling the oil a bit of a challenge. No other issues in testing. I really didn't put a huge load on the unit just testing of the outlets and powering something from each one at the same time. Unit has bigger wheels which is a plus as the unit is close to 220 lbs, so its pretty heavy for its size!
