We bought this on a Saturday off Amazkn, was delivered on the Tuesday following. Packaged very well. Hubs put wheels on and followed manual for start up. Hit the electric switch and voila, instant start up. Extremely happy with the sound of the engine abd how strong it feels. Next power outage, I'm sure it will be put to good use. Highly recommend.

This genny is great. It's put together very well. It feels solid and robust. Cranks fast ans starts right up. The few parts that you have to install are easy. It runs smoothly and quiet.

Back-up house generator

We bought this generator because we have increasingly been losing power in our home of 20+ years as storms are becoming more and more severe with climate change. Our electrician installed a sort of transfer switch. He placed an outlet on the side of our house which ties into our main electric supply box. This allows us to safely connect our entire house to the generator (with a 4-pronged extension cord specific to this use) without needing to run multiple extension cords everywhere. We've used the generator once so far and it was a very successful experience. We used lights and ceiling fans as we normally would, cooked dinner on our gas stove, and ran an older window air conditioner to cool off our bedroom (Central AC system is too big to run off this size generator.) The only downside thus far is how loud the engine is, but it's no louder than we expected it to be. It's an engine! We found we needed to walk about 20 feet away to have a conversation while it was running. We considered an inverter style generator but they don't make them in the size we felt we needed, they're considerably more expensive, and I was not confident that they would be quieter enough to make a big difference. I suppose we could always get a longer extension cord and move this generator further away from our house when running it. Anyway, it was easy to put the wheels on and get it set up and running. Very straightforward instructions were included. As someone who is not exactly comfortable with powerful engines and lots of electricity, the whole experience of using this generator was in my opinion a huge success. It also fits nicely in our small shed beside our lawnmower. The 6,000 Watt generator so far seems to provide enough power for our needs in our just <2,000 sq.ft. home (with gas heat, stove, hot water heater, and dryer.)

Best generator I ever bought!

I strongly advise getting this generator to cure all power-related Hurricane-phobias! Took the easiest 15 minutes to running after delivery! Westinghouse is the top-rated generator in consumer reports, and this model exemplifies that rating. The value, quality and price point make this a bargain. Look no further.
