I bought this generator almost a year ago, we loose electricity a few times a year, and this generator has been the best kind of generator that we have got so far. We will only use westinghouse generators in the future. They are perfect..

I needed a new generator for electrical outages...old one was unreliable and hard to start. Did a lot of comparison shopping and decided to buy a Westinghouse WGen9500DFc. I am so happy I did!! It has every feature I want and does everything I need. It's easy to start, easy to move around and has enough power/outlets for electric outages...plus the dual fuel feature is a bonus. As far as I'm concerned, this generator is the perfect generator for me.

Power outages
on January 20, 2026

We just recently had an 80 mph wind gusts storm with temperatures in the teens and power was out for over 13 hrs. I did not have a generator and house was getting cold and I was getting concerned over frozen water lines. The fridge was getting warm. I bought this generator for future power outages. Just hooked it up to propane and it started right up. My power company is coming this week to install a Generlink to power my house from the generator.

Fortunately I've only had to "trial" with it but all appears it will do WAY more than I'll need it to.

Portable dual fuel generator very necessary to maintain power during unplanned
power outages. Wattage capacity generated provides power to necessary home appliances.

Why?

What genius designed a generator that you cannot start with the pull rope unless the battery is charged? They put an electric fuel solenoid that requires the battery to be charged for the carburetor to get fuel. Is it just in case we feel we need exercise? The whole purpose of the pull rope on a generator with electric start is to be able to start the generator if the battery is dead, no?
Again, why?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
