Great Generator
on July 3, 2023

I purchased this generator to run my home in the event of a power outage in Oklahoma. This has already come to serve us in a 3-day power outage from the Father's day straight-line wind storm of 2023. The generator will run my inverter AC, plug 2 fridges, computers, TV, well pump 240v, and misc devices simultaneously. The only thing it wouldn't run is my electric hot water heater so I shut it off at the broker when we are running on the generator. I am very happy with this generator so far!

Good generator

At this time I have only assembled and done a quick test drive of the generator. Seems to be a good and powerful generator. It started at the first try. I like that it run both on propane and gas and that you can switch between the too fuels while it is running. It is noisy but so is all portable generators that I have come across.
My only complain is one missing information in the assembly instruction. It spend one page how to connect the battery to the generator. But the steps shown was already done. However the instruct fail to mention that the cable between the battery and the generator is in two pieces tied together with a zip tie. You need to cut the zip tie and and connect the two cables.

Easy!: Don't Forget To Snap Battery Connector Line
on December 31, 2020

Bought this a couple of weeks ago. The generator arrived without a scratch as it was packaged well from Westinghouse. The instructions and set-up to get it running on Propane only was very helpful. The only thing that didn't match in the instructions was it stated to connect the battery to terminal; however, they now have the line connected to the battery, but you must 'snap' it together with the starter line. Very simple and easy. Started up with remote start on propane only.

Revised former review. A great! Generator

Revising my 3 star review of a couple of days ago when I was frustrated with my new and much anticipated WGen9500 DF. When hooked up to my whole house Magnum Charger/Inverter the generator GFCIs would trip, unlike my Champion 8500 watt generator which it was replacing.
My fault. On further research I found that the WGen9500DF has a bonded neutral. After I removed the neutral ground jumper, creating a floating neutral, the problem was solved. Generator works perfectly and GFCIs do not trip. This Westinghouse is quieter, more powerful, than my Champion. And the best feature is the remote start. Wish there was a was to delete my earlier 3 star review.

Whole House Backup Generator.

The remote start was a big selling point, my wife won't need to go outside to switch to generator power if the power goes out. It has enough power to run everything I'll need in case of a power failure, including my three ton heat pump.

The Westinghouse WGen9500DF is an outstanding generator! With dual fuel capability, it offers great flexibility and delivers impressive power at 12,500 peak surge watts and 9,500 running watts. The electric start is convenient, and the user-friendly control panel makes operation easy. It's reliable, durable, and quieter than expected. Perfect for home backup or job sites. Highly recommended!

After researching many generators I choose this one based on power output and the dual fuel option. Been through many hurricanes. Michael was the last and after losing all power poles in county I saw we had power back in 14 days. Obtaining gasoline was painful, long lines and quarrelsome people.
I now have two 100 lb propane tanks and two 5 gallon gas cans. I estimate this amount of fuel will last me about 10 days running 8 hours per day. Filling the propane tanks will be much easier than fighting the gas lines.
The generator 240 outlet will connect through a remote receptacle to my whole house switch and run both my well and central AC.
