I only received this generator about a week ago, so I have yet to put it to use. The quality appears good and it started right up with the manual pull start running off of propane. The electric start battery appears to be completely dead — I have had it charging overnight for over 12 hours and still no power to the electric start or remote start key-fob. I placed a call to Westinghouse on a Sunday afternoon and reached a real person customer service representative who took down my information. Hopefully they will respond quickly next week during business hours. My only other complaint is that the orange plastic cap to protect the propane hookup is warped,,discolored and cracked. The Customer Service representative indicated that the parts department would ship out a replacement. So far I’m satisfied, but those two issues resulted in a 4/5 star rating. Otherwise, I’m very satisfied. Also, by leaving this feedback I get a free generator cover which will be a nice addition.

Nicely made and great features

I just picked this up 3 days ago - I have tested it with a freezer and small drill to make sure it worked, hope it works well for my whole house if I need it. Seems to be well made and thought through. It did need a little extra oil - was not shipped with quit enough, but all good.

Just received, unboxed and simple instructions to put together. Had another brand for years and the Westinghouse is well thought out. Dual fuel is a must if its hard to get gasoline. Remote start if you want to shut off before bed and restart when you wake up. Digital volt/hour/Frequency/hour meter. Even the funnel has a rotating head! Highly recommended!

Initial setup was simple and it fired right up. However the oil shipped with it wasn't enough to bring it into operating range. The bottle said it was, maybe the bottle wasn't full. Dual fuel is a great option. Looking forward to its simplicity during the next extended power outage.

Wgen9500DF Review

After much research I purchased the When9500DF. Dual fuel is very important where I’ll use propane as the primary fuel source and gasoline as the secondary if need be. There were no delivery issues and all advertised accessories (wheels, stands, funnel, oil, etc) were included. Instructions are easy to read and easy.to understand. After initial preparations for wheels and stands installation, battery prep, engine oil and propane hose connection, the generator started up on the first try. Wow! Very cool. I will be connecting the Wgen9500DF via a 50 amp cable to a manual transfer switch to run important appliances during power outages. The generator will be enclosed in a noise enclosure to lessen noise and keep good relations with my neighbors. Although I haven’t put the Wgen9500DF through a full suite of tests, I’m confident it’ll pass with flying colors. And when you add on.Westinghouse customer service it’s a win win.
