Great unit and reasonably priced

All things considered, this is a fantastic unit for the price point. I've researched a ton of generators at this and similar power ratings, and around this price point. This thing starts smooth and runs smooth, handling power draw right up to its limits. This is a larger unit, but I'm fine with that considering how much it can handle power wise. Despite its size it has comfortable handles and can be moved around well. The remote start works well, although I can see limited scenarios when I'd need it so it wasn't a must have. This unit is louder than similar ones at the same size from other manufacturers, but at considerably less cos. I also have this for storms and disasters so it doesn't really bother me since I don't run it often. It also has a built in battery trickle charger which most other brands do not have, so you'd have to factor in the cost of an additional battery tender. Finally, what sold me on this unit was the dual fuel option. It gives me a second option in case I run out of gas or if the supply becomes scarce for some reason. We are in the country with a massive propane tank so I can always switch to that, even if the chance of needing it is remote. It was worth the slight increase in cost in my opinion and what pushed me to buy this unit and upgrade to this unit after a couple of years research from my older (smaller) one. I think this is the perfect balance of "major necessities" backup power, size, features, etc. for a very reasonable price. The next model size up is a beast and way overkill for most emergency backup situations.

The only thing I couldn't find was how much oil to put in it, so you have to pour a little, check repeat... :-(

Cadillac of generators

I was amazed at the ease and quickness from opening box to running items in my house. I bought the generator and it was still in the box a few days later when my power went out. I literally was able to get it out of the box, assemble in 5 min or less, and had a couple of cords powering items in my house within 15 to 20 minutes. I absolutely love the remote start feature!!!!

Ready for 2020 Hurricane Season now

I bought this item in preparation for the 2020 hurricane season. I researched various brands and models and was pleased to find this model which has enough kick to power my house air conditioner, as well as the rest of my needs. In addition, it runs on either LP or gasoline, which provides much more flexibility as fuels become scarce.
Although delivery was delayed from the original scheduled date by one week, it arrived in excellent condition and with minor prep, started up easily. I'm confident this will serve our needs while hopeful I don't have to try...

After a year of research, the Westinghouse 9500DF is exactly what we are looking for. A very capable machine that makes living in hurricane country very comfortable.

Great generator with nice features
