Excellent value, easy to use with great features

I bought this right after our first snowstorm, and I was able to quickly test it out with our second. It didn't disappoint with the ease of use and push button start I was relieved to know I had an excellent generator in a critical time of need. It withstood the pounding of the weather and kept plugging along. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking at having that piece of mind should something go wrong.

Solid Generator

I purchased this generator to provide power to my house during power outages. I have not hooked it up to the house yet but I did "break it in" as recommended by the manual. The break in period is five hours and the generator ran six hours on the 2 gallons of clear fuel I put in the fuel tank. The noise level is what I expected, tolerable with the machine 10 feet from the house when I'm inside. It's the real deal and seems very capable of doing its job. Everything looks to be very solid and well built and ran like a racehorse right out of the box after assembly; started up on the first crank with the electric start powered by a fully charged battery that was included. Its a great machine and I am confident that I made a good purchase that wont let me down.

Easy setup and propane-to-gas switch, very loud

* Easy setup and works as advertised
* Transfer from propane use to gas is easy
* fuel gauge up top can let you know approximately how much gas is left in the tank
* wheels and lift handle are great to move the generator out before powering it on
* build quality seems solid

Cons:
* really noisy (which is to be expected which a 12kW unit). We powered it down at night otherwise it'd be a nuisance
* Some parts came loose during first operation. I'm guessing some fittings weren't tight enough and the vibration got them loose: the two feet (opposite of the wheels) as well as the cover to the air filter. **make sure you tighten everything before first operation**
* plastic housing of battery arrived broken. It isn't well protected for shipping I guess. This doesn't effect operation much...

Overall, very satisfied with this generator and we're using it to power the whole house: well pump and filtration, fridge, some lights, gas appliances (sparkers for house furnace, water heater, stovetops), lights, and other appliances.

Purchased product for power outages at my home, does a great job of running everything I need, ie heat, lights, refrigerators. Extremely happy.

Well built and outstanding features..

I purchased a 950 k DF with out CO2 ,, sensor warning, What a well built unit for sure, After a few minor kinks I spoke to Westinghouse and within 2 days I had the replacement parts needed to make things right. Thus far I have tested this unit on both LP and gas, it's nice to be able to switch on the fly . I did note when you add the oil 1 Qt provided, when you check the oil level it's still a little low so I just add a little more until it showed in the safe zone, I also noticed in colder weather ( teens) it is difficult to start , however it will start up on LP just fine and you can switch right back to fuel if you wish. I will investigate further, The very good point about dealing with Westinghouse support thay indeed work to make things right. Myself I would not hesitate to purchase further with a Westinghouse product..Lastly if you receive a unit that has a default issue a lot of times damage is done during shipping..
