I live on the southeast coast and it's Hurricane Season. I bought the Westinghouse generator (my first) to prepare for a power outage. It was easy to operate and I am hoping I do not have to use it.

After suffering through several power-outages throughout the years, it's nice to know that we finally have our own generator to keep the lights and heat on (and the food cold) through the next outage! This particular generator was chosen because it is perfectly sized for our power needs and love the fact that it can run on either Propane or Gasoline. Westinghouse was more detailed than others with the specifications of this unit, which made choosing it easier. This portable generator is built nice and compact but is very maneuverable. Cool features about it are: 1.) The pushbutton start including the remote start feature (it starts up effortlessly every time!), 2.) The digital hour meter, maintenance reminder, voltage, and line frequency combo display, 3.) Effortless switching between Gas and Propane, 4.) The variety of power outlets on the panel, and 5.) The carbon-monoxide sensing and shutdown capability. The generator appears to be well designed and heavy-duty. We've run it long enough to get through the engine break-in period (very important) but haven't had an actual power outage yet to really put it to the test. We are almost looking forward to the next power-outage just to try it out! But it brings us peace of mind to know that it's there, ready-to-go, if and when that should happen.

Purchased this model since it had all the features I wanted. It arrived in great shape. I was amazed that the manuals and quick start operations sheet were so easy to follow. Some instructions also had pictures that were great. Start up was easy, and smooth.
