I live in California. Its fire season and the wind has been blowing. The electric companies are tried of getting blamed for the fires so they have been shutting off power to customers during wind storms. I think it is going to be the way of the future as a preventative. This year our power has been shut off 7 times, once for 3 days. The refrigerator was starting to warm up. Lucky it is a cooler month. Now with this good size generator I can keep both my refrigerators cool and run a few other items as needed. We are prepared now!

Just what I needed

I bought this generator because of how good a reputation Westinghouse has with their equipment. Price was just right for what I wanted. This generator will run my entire house during a power failure. Very easy to use and not terribly loud. The only issue I have is not with the generator itself, but with the documentation that comes with it. In the "Replacement Parts" manual, the item numbers in the pictures do not match up with the parts lists. This could be very confusing if needing to order parts. Overall very satisfied.

I purchased this after experiencing a prolonged outage at my new house. I have learned from experience that a dual fuel option is necessary. I am excited to break this generator in and have it standing by for the next outage.

Great start so far

I bought the generator today and we are off to a great start. Assembly was easy. Generator started right up and powered all key items around the house. Seems like a solid little generator.

Doesn't work on gasoline out of the box.

I bought this 10 months ago and tried to use it for the first time today. It works great on propane, but won't run on gasoline. Yes, I am selecting gasoline on the control panel and the fuel valve is on from the gas tank. It is not trying to fire, like it's not getting gas. I do have fuel in the line after the fuel filter so the problem is somewhere after that, my guess is in the carb somewhere. Also the float bowl drain screw is stuck and will not turn, it is starting to strip.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
