Duel Fuel and Powerful

Getting ready for this hurricane season in Florida. Next step is to install transfer switch so that it can power a portion of my house panel. This generator is powerful enough to run a/c and other outlets in case of power outage once hooked up to transfer switch. Having duel fuel is a plus because it gives you 2 options fuel the generator.

propane power that's quieter than expected

Living in South Florida, we deal with bad storms plus hurricanes. And I was tired with cleaning the carburetor on my Coleman gen and dealing with gas storage. So after doing a lot of research, I discovered the 7500DF. My plan is to never put a drop of gasoline in this unit and exclusively use 30# and 40# propane tanks as supply. It fired up instantly on propane (remote start is a hand feature), but I was most surprised by how quiet the unit is. It's way quieter than the Champion model my neighbor has. I'd have given 5 stars but haven't seen how it performs yet during extended outages...I'm confident it will do well, but it's still early in the storm season (June).

Nice Generator

Easy to assemble.... hooked up propane and it started up right away...then tried remote no problem. I like the option that gas or propane can be used

Set up went well

Just received the product today put it in the pack put it together. It runs on propane well and started and stopped using the remote control. Haven't tried to hook it up to anything other than the battery charger included. I'll keep you posted

Initial quality issue but resolved in the end

This generator was easy to get out of the box and assembled and looks great. Unfortunately it would only run on gas. When trying to run on LP it would not start and I could hear LP leaking out and smell it. I called Westinghouse customer service to report the leak and initially they wanted me to take it to their service center which was 2 hours away. I was thankful they did end up allowing me to take it to a local engine repair shop. The engine repair shop told me the responsiveness from Westinghouse's customer service was poor and it took over a week to be able to talk with somebody to get service authorized. Customer service figured it to be a bad fuel selector valve so they sent out a new part. After the replacement fuel selector valve did not fix the problem the engine repair shop diagnosed the issue to be a design flaw and tried escalating the issue to Westinghouse's engineering group. Again the responsiveness from Westinghouse was poor and it took 6 weeks before the engine repair shop was able to get to the right engineering people at Westinghouse and convince them that they had a design flaw and to get them to ship a replacement generator. I was thrilled when the replacement generator fired up right away on LP. While frustrating that it took almost 10 weeks from the time I ordered to the time I had a working dual fuel generator I am happy that Westinghouse stood behind their product. I selected this generator for the features and value and in the end I am satisfied that is what I got with this generator. Hopefully after the initial quality issues this will be a dependable generator for me for years to come.
